Now, a new update will give veteran players even more weapons and pilots to save humanity with.Subset Games is known for its challenging and unique strategy games, with its breakout hitFTL: Faster Than Lightin 2012 capturing the attention of many. Specifically, several new units, weapons, pilots and enemies are being added. Given the game’s interesting take on movement and physical presence in a turn-based strategy setting, the new units will most likely provide even more ways to push enemies around the map.

Alongside theAdvanced Editionannouncement, Subset Games also revealed thatInto the Breachwill finally have a physical edition via Fangamer. Considering the disproportionately low amount ofindie games that receive physical releases,Into the Breachjoining the ones that do even four years after release is a testament to its staying power, probably due in part to its randomized levels and unique take on strategy. The physical version ofInto the Breachwill even include a physical manual, which is a rarity in modern games due to digital manuals or reliance on in-game tutorials.

Not everything aboutInto the Breach: Advanced Editionis revealed yet, but when the update releases it will provide a great reason to revisit the game, much like howFTLgained a second life through itsAdvanced Edition.Tactical strategy games are falling into a nicherecently, but still have a lot to offer for players willing to learn how to play them well.
