Genevieve O’Reilly starred in the British crime drama,Tin Star, alongside Tim Roth, Abigail Lawrie, and Christina Hendricks from 2017-2020. In the Sky Atlantic series, O’Reilly plays Angela Worth, the wife of James “Jim” Worth (Roth), a former Metropolitan Police detective and the current Chief of Little Big Bear, a small town on the edge of the Canadian Rockies. Jim isn’t just a police chief, however, he also harbors a violent alter ego known as Jack Devlin, who surfaces whenever Jim drinks too much.
While Angela doesn’t trust Jack, she recognizes that Jim’s alter ego’s top goal is to protect his family, so she comes to begrudgingly accept his help after their son Peter (Rupert Turnbull) is murdered by an assailant who was intending to kill Jim. It’s a fascinating role and as Angela is forced to use Jack more and more, she becomes just as trapped in Jim’s alter ego as he is himself. O’Reilly is excellent as the heartbroken but vengeful mother, and she manages to play a character feeling extremely guilty but also completely dedicated to getting the justice she wants.
