A new leak about a content update inHonkai: Star Rail3.4 has led me to believe that players will, again, have to farm gear for Kafka, but it should be for a great cause.Version 3.4 is still several weeks away since the turn-based RPG by HoYoverse is in the middle of Version 3.2 and has yet to go through the entirety of Version 3.3. Because the Version 3.3 beta tests are underway, many of the current leaks are about its contents. The leaks, for example, have detailed changes to how playerspurchase pulls inHonkai: Star Rail3.3.
The leaks are also putting the spotlight on both Cipher and Hyacine’s gameplay kits, showcasing how they will work before the official reveal by the developer. Even with the augmented attention to the contents of Version 3.3, some leaks about future updates, such as Version 3.4, are already starting to circulate among the community. The leaks are a tad less reliable than Version 3.3 leaks, but they still provide useful information. For example, the Version 3.4 leaks have revealed details about theHonkai: Star Rail Fatecollab characters, both of whom should be released in the same patch as Phainon.

New Ornament Sets Have Been Leaked For Honkai: Star Rail 3.4
One Set Has Been Datamined, But Ornaments Usually Come In Pairs
Even though new characters and their abilities take over the majority of the leaks in any given patch, other details are often leaked. In Version 3.4, players may get access to new gear, for example. According to datamined information provided by the leaker known as Sakura Haven, who has garnered a reputation for being reliable,Version 3.4 should introduce a new Planar Ornament set for players to farm. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Datamined” onReddit. The leak doesn’t provide any extra information about what the Ornament set will do inHonkai: Star Rail3.4.
However, the mere mention of its addition in the patch can spark some speculation. A notable reasoning that is reached with the leak is that this should not be the only Ornament set to be introduced. Usually, Ornament sets are introduced in pairs. This means that players should instead get access to two different Planar Ornament sets in Version 3.4, which will be farmable together from the Planar Ornament Extraction function in the Divergent Universe. Neither leaked Ornament set has had its effects revealed, but based on the upcoming characters inHonkai: Star Rail, it’s possible to speculate a bit.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.4’s Leaked Ornaments Could Serve Kafka
DoT May Be Revitalized In Version 3.4 With Kafka’s Buffs
I firmly believe that at least one of the new Ornament sets will serve Kafka. Version 3.4 is confirmed to be the patch in which the long-promised buffs to old characters will occur. These buffs will start with Kafka, Blade, Silver Wolf, and Jingliu– so far, it’s unknown exactly what will change in their gameplay kits, but the idea behind these buffs is to make them usable within the current meta, something that’s currently impossible for players trying to max out most of the endgame activities.Kafka inHonkai: Star Rail, for instance, has had her usage decreased significantly.
Surely, one of these leaked Planar Ornaments could serve any of the buffed characters in Version 3.4, but I’m sold on the idea that it will work with Kafka because of how much DoT (damage over time) mechanics have been powercrept over the past year.If Kafka is to be buffed, DoT effects need to be buffed, too, and that could come in the form of new gear. There have already been leaks about anew era of DoT inHonkai: Star Rail, with an upcoming character release, and I’m sure Kafka will be part of that new meta composition.

I, for instance, only use Kafka as a Nihility support for myAcheron team comp inHonkai: Star Railas a means of quickly charging the DPS character’s Ultimate.
Kafka’s gameplay kit is expected to not only be buffed in terms of stats but possibly even modified in a way of making her more relevant, so I also assume that none of the current Planar Ornament sets truly play into her future mechanics. As such, the rumors of a new Planar Ornament set arriving in Version 3.4 seem like more than a coincidence, but a foreshadowing of another farming period. Since her launch in 2023, Kafka has undergone several changes to her build, and players may once again be forced to farm forKafka’s build inHonkai: Star Rail.
Leaked Ornaments May Also Work For Hysilens In Honkai: Star Rail
Hysilens Is Rumored To Be A Nihility Character
While I believe the Planar Ornament could serve Kafka, it could simultaneously work with another character: Hysilens. The mysterious Chrysos Heir, who has yet to make an official appearance in the game, is likely going to be released after Version 3.4. With Cipher and Hyacine confirmed for Version 3.3, and Phainon and theFatecharacters rumored for Version 3.4, it is likely that Hysilens will make their debut in Version 3.5 or later. The rumored release of new Planar Ornaments in Version 3.4 could allow players to pre-farm gear to use on theleaked Hysilens inHonkai: Star Rail.
The leaks about Hysilens have already indicated, on separate occasions, that they will be a Nihility character. In fact, Hysilens is the character who is directly linked to the rumors about a new age of DoT mechanics in the game.If Hysilens’ gameplay kit truly revolves around DoT, much like Kafka’s kit, then one of the datamined Planar Ornament sets could be a way of making DoT mechanics more powerful for both of them, incentivizing the application of DoTs and then the detonation of their effects against enemies inHonkai: Star Rail.
As reliable as Sakura Haven is, and despite the information allegedly coming from datamined content, the leak should still be taken with a grain of salt. The release of new Planar Ornament sets could be postponed for any number of reasons. Furthermore, there is a chance that neither of the two speculated sets will serve DoT mechanics at all – though it would be a huge waste not to do so, seeing that the idea seems to bring DoT back to the meta inHonkai: Star Rail.
