Robin has been a fan-favorite player in the Netflix show since her introduction in season 3. Her death would certainly have a powerful impact on the viewers and other characters (though it risks leaning intoHollywood’s “bury your gays” trope).
But Robin appears to be in danger in the new footage, which shows Murray driving a large white truck that’s later attacked by a Demogorgon. The truck looks worse for wear afterwards, with holes lining the sides. And Murray isn’t the only person shown nearby.Robin and Murray are standing together in front of the truck just before it’s attacked— a worrisome sign for both characters.
This obviously doesn’t confirm that either of them will perish —Stranger Things' heroes have made it out of stickier situations — but it does add the pair to the list of favorites who could die. Even if I’m wrong to worry about Robin afterStranger Thingsseason 5’s teaser, there’s definitely cause for concern heading into the last batch of episodes.The Netflix series has spent four seasons getting viewers invested in its characters, giving it the ideal setup to break our hearts in the final outing.
Stranger Thingsclearly isn’t afraid to devastate viewers, as Eddie Munson’s death and Max’s fate in season 4 prove. With the series growing increasingly darker and the stakes getting higher, there’s little doubt season 5 will pack an even greater punch. No one is safe, and that means every fan-favorite — from Steve to Erica — is fair game.
