Rob McElhenney Played One Of Euron Greyjoy’s Ill-Fated Soldiers In Game Of Thrones
The Soldier Is The First To Die During Theon’s Rescue Mission
Rob McElhenney appears inGame of Thronesseason 8, episode 1, “Winterfell”, as an unnamed Ironborn soldier. In the Narrow Sea, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) leads a nighttime raid on Euron’s (Pilou Asbæk) ships to rescue his imprisoned sister, Yara (Gemma Whelan). Rob’s soldier is one of the first soldiers we see.
However,we only get a brief glimpse of his unobstructed face before an arrow explodes through one of his eyes, killing him instantly. We get two angles of the arrow protruding from his head before he flops to the ground, along with the rest of the Ironborn crew on the ship.

Without freezing the frame, it can be hard to tell who it is with his greasy mop of black hair. However, the soldier does sport a goatee that anyone familiar with Mac inIASIPwill instantly recognize. He may not get a line, but he does get a memorable death, which is always a bonus inGame of Thrones.
