Optimized for the PS5 and “Enhanced” for the PS5 Pro, the game has never looked or run better, and it has numerous added features like a Horde Assault mode. Sony’srecent flood of remasters has received criticism, but this is still the best way to play the game.
There are certain steps required to upgrade to a PS5 copy, whether using a digital or physical copy.All upgrade methods still require a $10 purchase, which is a fairly common approach on PlayStation. How To Upgrade Digitally & Physically
A Bit More Complicated On The Physical Side
Whether you bought a digital copy for $60 when it first came out in 2019 or bought it later at a discount, upgrading is easy. Justgo to the PlayStation Store page forDays Gone Remastered, and the $10 upgrade should be there for you if you digitally own the PS4 title. Upgrading physically is a bit more complicated, however.
There’s no physical release ofDays Gone Remastered, unlike other remasters likeHorizon Zero DawnorThe Last of Us Part 2. ThePS4 copy is the only physical release available.
You’ll need to insert a PS4 disc into a PS5 with a disc drive attached, at which point you should be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for $10. There’s an additional catch, however. Upgrading this way essentiallymakes your PS4 disc a PS5 copy license key, as you must put the disc in any time you want to play the game
PS Plus Has No Days Gone Upgrade
WhileDays Goneon PS4 is not only currently available on the PS Plus subscription service, it was offered as a free monthly game back in April of 2021. If you claimed the title then and have a currently active PS Plus subscription, you should still be able to play the PS4 version, but that’s where the good news ends.The PS Plus version ofDays Goneis ineligible for the $10 upgradeto the PS5 remaster.
Xbox Game Pass offers $10 to $20 Deluxe Edition upgrades, and PlayStation has taken the same approach in the past withHorizon Zero Dawn. Sony has seemingly changed its ways with one of thebest zombie games on PS5. If you grabbedDays Gonethrough PS Plus, your best bet is to find a cheap used PS4 physical copy in a local shop and upgrade for $10. That should be less expensive than $50 price tag forDays Gone Remastered, but you will need a disc drive attached to your PS5 or PS5 Pro.
