Gamescom 2025 Has A Stacked Lineup Of Playable Games
Nintendo May Dominate The Show
After skipping Gamescom 2024, Nintendo is returning with an apparent vengeance, as the gaming juggernaut will be showcasingall of its announced heavy-hitters at the show. The Nintendo Switch 2 has beena roaring success, so it seems Nintendo wants to capitalize on its popularity. All the confirmed Switch 2 games appearing at Gamescom are as follows:

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition
Additional GameCube Classics titles
Several of these games, includingMetroid Prime 4,Silksong,Hades 2, andFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradehave beenannounced for Switch 2for a while with no concrete release date. It remains to be seen if we’ll finally get specific release dates, thoughall of them are slated for a 2025 release, as of right now.
Switch 2 Needs More Games
Nintendo Is Slowly Upping The Ante
The Switch 2 launched with just one major first-party title:Mario Kart World, a game surrounded by controversy due to its$80 price tagoutside the Switch 2 launch bundle.Donkey Kong Bananzahas been released since then to glowing reviews and is a seriousGame of the Year contender, but other than that and some stellar ports, likeCyberpunk 2077, theSwitch 2 doesn’t have the most compelling library of games right now.
That being said, it appears the back half of 2025 is going to be pretty exciting for fans with lots of games to play on their shiny new console.Hollow Knight: SilksongandMetroid Prime 4finally being playable to the public atGamescom, as well asPokémon Legends: Z-AandHades 2, might be a huge boon for the Switch 2, and there’s likely going to be a lot of demo impressions to dissect afterwards.
