While fans may get actualmultiplayer social featuresin a future update forHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, right now there is at least an in-game leaderboard for them to climb through the ranks. Players can compete against virtual Hogwarts students to be the one to earn the most points for their house, and some fans have discovered that they may be attending Hogwarts with some celebrities.
At the time of this writing, it’s unclear if the House Cup leaderboard inHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryfeatures randomly generated names or if developer Jam City handcrafted the list themselves, though they appear to be randomly generated. Regardless, some celebrity names have been discovered among the huge list of Hogwarts students, including the likes of Emma Watson and Owen Wilson.
Reddit user GyzmoGER discovered that Hollywood actor Owen Wilson could be found on hisHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysterygame.
Meanwhile, Reddit user Koning038 found Emma Watson, best known for her role as Hermione Granger in theHarry Potterfilm series listed as a fourth year Ravenclaw in the game.
Our own search for celebrity names inHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysterydidn’t yield many results. However, we did find that Jack Thompson is attending Hogwarts with us. Whether it’s the same Jack Thompson known for his many legal crusades against violent video games is anyone’s guess, however.
Besides potential celebrity names found in theHouse Cup leaderboard, celebrities are present inHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryin another capacity as well. While voice acting in the game is relatively sparse, what’s there is actually performed by the movie cast, with the likes of Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall), Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore), Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), and more reprising their roles from the films.
In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if other celebrity names are discovered byHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryplayers in the future.
