The next heist forGrand Theft Auto Onlinejust received a reveal, and it belongs to a fan-favorite area. Rockstar Games announced that players would be able to rob the Diamond Casino and Resort blind when its new heist activity drops on December 12.

A location ripe with activity, The Diamond Casino and Resort went from a static background prop to a live activity center forGrand Theft Auto Onlineback in July.Despite its controversial release, it’s a location hosting some of the heaviest player-traffic in the game, and now it will have a heist to end all heists – at least, according to Rockstar, it will.

The company’s exact words told fans to prepare for “the biggest, most audacious, most complex criminal operation ever to hit Los Santos.” It goes on to describe the upcoming activity as one that will be “highly repayable” due to the multitude of variables comprising it. The Dimond Casino heist will be jam-packed with choices that will test a player’s ability to adapt on the fly when their plans inevitably meet snags, which, as a result, will give the player multipleways to tackle the mission.

To get the ball rolling for this heist, the player acting as crew leader will open up a front operation in the form of a retro arcade. The arcade will conduct its usual business above ground while down below, the player and their crew will plan the heist. The Diamond Casino is the most secure building in all of Los Santos, however, so players will want to try and think things through as carefully as possible as an armed confrontation will probably end poorly. Outside help will be available, though, through the Cheng family, who have a bone to pick with the Duggan family –the owners of the Diamond Casino.

The difficulty of this heist should net a reasonably large reward for players, maybe even enough to buy some of themore absurdly priced cars of the game. But, from the way Rockstar describes the heist, players will be more interested in pulling off the perfect run than in the reward. In fact, the description of this heist makes it sound like a be-all, end-all activity. There arerumors ofGrand Theft Auto 6’s announcementcoming soon, so maybe this heist is Rockstar’s way of saying “goodbye” toGTA5?
