We’ve already seen a lot ofGrand Theft Auto 6’s map, but we’re still missing out on the most important (and most obvious) inclusion. Between the wide variety oflocations officially revealed by Rockstarand thefan-made efforts to draft Leonida’s map, our picture of whatGTA 6’s map will look like gets clearer every day, even though we’ve scarcely seen any footage of the gameplay. It apparently extends beyond the borders of Vice City, into the greater suburbs and wilds of Leonida state, where players will have all sorts of landmarks to visit as they play through its campaign.
That said, there’s still one kind of location that’s yet to make an appearance in any kind of promotional material, but it’s so obvious, it basicallyhasto be in the game. And no, it’s not Disney World, which many players have already speculated will make some kind of appearance. It is, however, an integral part of the Florida landscape, and it’s rife with opportunities for exactly the kind of humor thatGTAtypically excels at, and yet, as far as we can tell from what we’ve seen so far, it’s nowhere to be found.

GTA 6’s Leonida Needs A Retirement Community
Where Is Vice City’s Boca Raton?
Ask anyone what they associate with Florida, and they’re likely to tell you sun, sand, and orthopedic sandals. That’s right: Florida is known for its wide variety of retirement communities, which are scattered all throughout the state, but especially concentrated near beach towns and big cities like Miami, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale. It’s almost a stereotype at this point: when Americans up north get older, they plan a move to Florida. WithGTA 6taking place in and around the Miami-inspired Vice City,it’ll undoubtedly include a retirement community of some sort, although just what form it’ll take is hard to say.
However, nothing of the sort has appeared inGTA 6trailers to date- but we have seen undeniable signs of it. The hammer-toting old woman who appeared in the first trailer is almost certain to come from a retirement community - if not officially, she’d certainly fit in with her entitled attitude and territorial nature.Vice Cityalready implies that several retirement communities of the sort exist: there are radio ads for a Musty Pines, billboards for Farewell Ranch, and even a housing complex for divorced men appropriately called Shady Acres.

The Retired Florida Lifestyle Is Perfect For A GTA Send-Up
GTA: The Golden Years
GTAis known for its exaggerated caricatures of American life, and a retirement community full of ornery old folks would fit right in. I can see it now: gun-toting grandpas that leave their antique gold watches unattended during aquatic jazzercise. Paranoid grannies who’ll call the cops on you just for looking at them sideways. Old couples cruising around in golf carts adorned with multicolored loofahs that supposedly represent their various… proclivities. It’s so rife with opportunities forGTA’s specific brand of irreverent humor that it almost seems like low-hanging fruit - but that’s never stopped Rockstar before.
It could make a perfectaddition toGTA 6’s map, not to mentionthe gameplay and story opportunities. Jason and Lucia could pull off some kind of scam on an unsuspecting old lady, or have to infiltrate a high-stakes game of mahjong in order to win a hefty prize pot. I wouldn’t even flinch at a shuffleboard mini-game - honestly, that sounds pretty fun, and I’ve never seen it done in any other game before.
At present, the lack of retirement communities just seems like a missed opportunity.Something of the sort is almost certain to appear inGrand Theft Auto 6, in one way or another - the only weird part is that we haven’t seen it yet.
