Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlandshas been a major hit for Ubisoft, with the game having thebiggest launch of 2017 so far. Ubisoft has supported the game’s sizable community with paid DLC as well as free updates, with the next major update adding PvP this fall.

The free PvP update forGhost Recon Wildlandswill feature a new game mode called Ghost War, which pits teams of four against each other in team deathmatch-style battles. Ghost War will reportedly sport large maps that challenge players to contend with dangerous terrain and weather conditions in addition to enemy players.

Ghost War will be a class-based affair, with players choosing from one of six classes before jumping into any given match. Ubisoft has yet to detail the specific classes players will be able to choose from, but the Ghost War trailer suggests that a sniper class will be one of the six options available to players. Further details on Ghost War’s classes are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks, so those interested will have to stay tuned.

Ghost Recon Wildlandsfans will have to wait until this fall to get their hands on the PvP mode proper, but an open beta test scheduled for later this summer should give them a taste of what to expect. It’s unclear what exactly will be included in the open beta, but the primary purpose of it will be to balance the game mode ahead of launch.

All things considered, Ubisoft’s continued support ofGhost Recon Wildlandsis commendable. The game has seen a number of significant content updates since its launch earlier this year, and the free PvP update should be one of the biggest ones yet. While fans likely appreciate story DLC likeNarco RoadandFallen Ghosts, Ghost War sounds like it is giving them a completely new game mode to master, and should add quite a bit of replay value to the game.

Whether or not Ghost War lives up to expectations remains to be seen, but fans can look forward to theGhost Recon Wildlands' free PvP update this fall.
