One of the strongest new characters fromGenshin Impact6.0 may see a nerf in their kit, and with it, make you think about saving your pulls for units from a future patch. Version 6.0 will be the next big update for HoYoverse’s hit action RPG.The patch will take you to the region of Nod-Krai, an area in the nation of Snezhnaya, and introduce a large roster ofNod-Krai characters inGenshin Impact6.0.
During the patch, it’s expected that the majority of the new faces will be NPCs, thoughthe developer has already confirmed that three new characters will be playable in Version 6.0. The order of theGenshin Impact6.0 bannershas yet to be revealed, but Aino, Lauma, and Flins should make their debuts as playable characters during the update.
Flins Got Nerfed In Genshin Impact 6.0 Beta Tests
The DMG Modifiers Have Been Reduced Significantly, According To The Leaks
While it is known that Flins will be a 5-star Electro DPS thanks to theGenshin Impact6.0 gameplay kit leaksthat show his abilities, as well as Lauma’s, he may not be as strong as originally predicted. According to a leak that was shared by user ISRUKRENG in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit,Flins may get a massive set of nerfs to his Elemental Burst.
As seen in the leak, several damage modifiers have been reduced. The Final Phase Lunar-Charged DMG dealt by Flins’ Burst fell from 233.9% to 210.5%.His Thunderous Symphony, which is his special Burst, has had its DMG reduced from 140.3% to 120.6%. Lastly, the leak reports that the Thunderous Symphony’s Additional DMG now deals 187.1% DMG, down from 210.5%. These figures refer to the Talent at level 10.

The Character Has A Special Burst
The leaked nerfs to Flins’s Burst, especially to the special version of his Burst, are concerning.Flins’ leaked kit indicates that he is a main DPS in team comps and that Thunderous Symphony may be the strongest part of his kit. While the ability deals less damage than his regular Burst, it also consumes less Energy, allowing him to activate it more frequently.
With the currently reported nerfs, however,it may not be worth using Flins’ special Burst, as it may be better to hold onto the Energy for his regular Burst– this means not using his Skill either, as this is what enables the usage of his special Burst. Flins was being set up as one of thebestGenshin Impactcharactersthis year, but the nerfs may have cut down his potential.
There’s still a chance that these changes will be reverted. The leaked nerfs happened during Version 3 of the beta tests, and the update has yet to undergo Version 4 tests.As such, he may be buffed once again. It’s uncertain exactly how Flins will present himself once his definitive version isreleased inGenshin Impact6.0.
My concern is that, once again, we’ll have a male 5-star Electro DPS not reaching the potential set by the hype around the character. The biggest example of this is Cyno, who was one of Sumeru’s most anticipated characters. Once released,the Electro DPS proved to be unreliable in gameplay. His kit isn’t disastrous, but it’s so underwhelming that it’s best to use an Electro sub-DPS rather than Cyno.
I still believe that Flins will be a better Electro DPS option than Cyno thanks to his reported scaling, butthe leaked nerfs to his Elemental Burst have made me rethink pulling for him. I was excited about his release and eager to try the new Lunar-Charged reactions, as I chose to skip Ineffa, but I may be locked out of the new mechanic.
You May Want To Save Your Pulls For Genshin Impact 6.1 Or Beyond
The Best Nod-Krai Characters May Appear In Future Updates
Like me, you may want to consider saving your pulls for characters inGenshin Impact6.1 or beyond.Flins may be an underwhelming Electro DPS, so it may not be worth pulling for him, and there is still a lot of mystery surrounding Lauma. It’s expected that Lauma will be a Lunar-Bloom enabler that deals off-field Dendro DMG.
Lauma should work alongside characters like Alhaitham and Nahida, as well as Hydro characters. She may work marvelously withAino inGenshin Impact6.0, asAino is reported to be a 4-star Hydro sub-DPS who can activate Nod-Krai bonusesfor her allies from the region, which would include Lauma.
If you’re not keen on pulling for Lauma, however, it may be best to simply save your pulls for what may come after.HoYoverse has teased characters like Durin, Nefer, Columbina, and Varka for future updates, and while it’s uncertain exactly when each of these anticipated new characters will be released, there is a chance that at least one or more will arrive in Version 6.1.
There have been leaks about a potential new Pyro character in Version 6.1, andDurin has been confirmed as a Pyro unit, so his release may be lined up for the following patch. If you are curious about the human form of this dragon, it may be best to invest in him – though I recommend waiting for leaks to further detail his kit.
Of course, we’d still have to ensure he isn’t being nerfed in a way that would reduce his potential too much either. Even so, I’ve become wary of pulling for Flins, and I’m scared that what could have been a great Electro DPS will be just another character release to skip. However, this is especially concerning asGenshin Impactmoves into a brand-new region in Version 6.0.
