FortniteSeason 8has arrived, and as is the case with every season in the free-to-play battle royale game, a lot has changed. For instance, Wailing Woods and Tomato Temple, as well as the original location for The Block, have been obliterated by a volcanic eruption. In their place come the new Lazy Lagoon and Sunny Steps locations, a wide swathe of new biomes to explore, and pirates.
Much like how Season 7 brought with itthe Ice King and his Trogs, Season 8 features Blackheart and his crew of buccaneer Fishsticks. As such, it should come as no surprise thatFortnite’s Week 1 Challenges for Season 8 are filled with pirate adventure.

One of Week 1’s most exciting pirate Challenges is toexplore the new mapand discover seven newly built pirate camps. These camps range from towering structures to stout forts built on ruins from previous seasons, so players discovering them on their own will be no easy feat.
The exact language of the Challenge is to “Visit All Pirate Camps” of which there are seven. All the player needs to do is get near to the camp’s location and the Challenge will count it as a visit. This can be done while dropping into seven different matches, or all in a single match if the player can survive that long and travel that fast. Once all seven camps are found, it will complete and players can move on to the nextWeek 1 Challenge.
Just in case the map itself isn’t specific enough, or ifFortniteplayers want to avoid using the map and would rather have some simpler directions, follow along below for some extra details. None of the camps are particularly difficult to find, so anyone who feels lost might have accidentally gone to the wrong location.
Fortnite’s Weekly Challenges start each Thursday and run through the Wednesday of the week that follows. The pirate camp challenge started February 28 and will last through March 6, soBattle Passparticipants best not wait too long to start the grind.
Fortniteis available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
