Without a doubt, one of the major draws toEpic Games' popular multiplayer sandbox survival titleFortniteBattle Royale comes from the studio’s continual update of the game with new items, gameplay aspects, and modes. Speaking of the lattermost feature, the development team for the free-to-play portion of the title have now decided to add yet another Limited Time Mode (LTM) to the game, calling it Blitz.

According to a brief post onFortniteBattle Royale’s subreddit, Epic Games succinctly states that Blitz Mode is now live and consists of “swift games and lots of loot,” while a rundown of the new Limited Time Mode on the company’s official site expounds a bit more on its contents and parameters. As detailed by Epic, Blitz will feature maximum match lengths of 15 minutes, and the battles will begin with the storm circle already closing in on the island.

In order to makeFortniteBattle Royale’s Blitz Mode move even faster, Epic Games has also adjusted the availability of loot to make it spawn at much higher rates so as to allow players to jump into combat much more quickly. For instance, treasure chest and ammo box spawns will occur much more frequently during a match, while Floor Loot is going to spawn “nearly 100% of the time.” What’s more is that intervals between the spawns of Supply Drops and their descent time have been decreased, and harvest resources have been doubled.

While the introduction of Blitz intoFortniteBattle Royale will likely be welcomed with open arms by most, if not all fans of the free-to-play game, many will still be sad to see the previously availableTeams of 20 modebe cycled out. Fortunately enough, though, Epic Games has previously promised that many fan-favorite LTMs will be tweaked and re-released as slight variants of the originals, so it’s quite possible we will see another mode involve larger teams again in the future.

Fortniteis available now in early access on iOS devices, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
