There is a big reason why this time skip happened but saying anything else would spoil things too early.Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledorehas not done well in reviews. However, this is theHarry Potterfranchise. Bad reviews, or not, there is probably going to be a fourth movie to finish things up. Here are some spoiler-filled questions that this movie leaves hanging for a sequel.
8Where Is Nagini?
One of the biggest surprises in the last movie,The Crimes of Grindelwald, was the inclusion ofLord Voldemort’s pet snakeNagini. It turned out that Nagini started as a human who could turn into a snake but was cursed because eventually, she would no longer be able to return to a human state.
That’s why she is never seen as a human woman in the other movies or books. She sides with the “good guys” inThe Crimes of Grindelwaldbut is never seen again. What happened?
7World War 2 Is Coming
There is another big shocker that happened toward the end ofThe Crimes of Grindelwald. When the evil wizard himself is addressing his congregation, he shows them all a vision of the future with World War II images.
The cherry on top of the fear pie is the atomic bomb exploding. It seems that’s where this series is heading. Will the next movie, if there is one, be set in World War II? Will Grindelwald side with the Nazis for an unprecedented alliance? Will theMuggles become villainsalongside the dark wizards? That would be wild.
6Does Creedence Survive?
Credence is destined to die. It is within his family’s bloodline that at some point, those that suppress magic can get afflicted by this curse. Credence has a redemption moment toward the end ofThe Secrets of Dumbledoreas he exposes Grindelwald’s plan with the Qilin.

Aberforth is there to reunite with his son to take him home. That’s a sweet gesture but how long is Credence going to live after this movie? Will he die in between this end and the next film or will a miracle happen to elongate his life?
5The Absence Of Tina
Tina has been one of the main characters since the first movie in this trilogy. When asked where she is for most of this movie, it is revealed that Tina has taken over the American branch. Even if that is the case, doesn’t it seem reasonable that she would participatein Dumbledore’s planto get her sister back?
She has an investment in this war of wizards that goes beyond saving all of humanity. Also, what happened between her and Newt again? Are they just destined to never be?
4Deleting Yusuf’s Memory
Yusuf is a wasted character inThe Secrets of Dumbledore. He is tasked with infiltrating Grindelwald’s camp, which he sees right through. Grindelwald tries to appease Yusuf’s memories bydeleting Leta Lestrangewith a spell. Grindelwald is the one that killed her in the last movie.
If Grindelwald could do that easily then why didn’t he just delete Dumbledore from Yusuf’s mind as well? Better yet, he could have probably ensnared him with a charm spell to turn him into a robot-like minion. There were so many opportunities for Grindelwald waiting right there.
3Theseus Being Jailed
Why was Theseus jailed? This is the problem withvillains in moviesor other types of media. They could win so easily if they just killed the heroes instead of going through elaborate death traps.

Theseus gets thrown into a German jail that is guarded by one old man. An old man that was very easy to get past. Inside the jail, each cell has a bug that lights up. When the light goes out, a giant scorpion-like creature will eat that prisoner. If they were going to kill Theseus anyway, why be so grandiose about it?
2Grindelwald’s Change
Grindelwald has gone through some dramatic changes between these three movies. In the first film, he is disguised as an Auror within the American wizarding branch. He is playedby Colin Farrelluntil the end when Johnny Depp is revealed. That’s who plays him in the second movie too. He gets a weird eye modification in that movie that isn’t explained. Then, inThe Secrets of Dumbledore, he is replaced once again.
This time he is played by Mads Mikkelsen he does not have this weird eye. This was because Johnny Depp got in some hot water so the studio wanted to replace him. If there is a fourth movie, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for the studio to change actors again to stay consistent even if the second change was for legal issues.
1The Elaborateness Of Dumbledore’s Plan
When Dumbledore’s plan is being discussed on the train, Jacob has a great line in response to it all. “It’s working on me right now.” He is expressing his confusion which should translate to the audience as well.
There are so many plotlines in this movie that it is hard to see how Dumbledore could have thought of it all. The weird part was giving Jacob a fake wand. So, did Dumbledore know Jacob was going to tryand assassinate Grindelwaldor was that a happy accident? This whole plan could be described as a cluster of happy accidents.
