AsHollow Knight: Silksongfinally nears its release (allegedly), one fan has decided to celebrate by recreating the iconic characters inMonster Hunter Wilds. TheHollow KnightandMonster Hunterfranchises have very little in common besides their extreme difficulty.Hollow Knightis a 2D side-scrolling Metroidvania, whileMonster Hunter Wildsis a 3D co-op monster-hunting RPG. One fan has united the two, though, by making a homage to theHollow Knightcharacters in the newestMonster Huntergame.
Reddit usermr-sasageyohas designed characters inMonster Hunter Wildsthatlook like the titular Hollow Knight and the protagonist of the upcomingSilksongtitle, Hornet. The player expertly made use ofWilds' robust character customization engine and carefully selected the best armor for both their character and their Palico companion to make them look like 3D renderings of theHollow Knightcharacters—to absolutely incredible results.

Monster Hunter Wilds' Silksong Homage Is Expertly Crafted
Cosplaying As Hornet In Monster Hunter Wilds
Recreating the Hollow Knight and Hornet inMonster Hunter Wildsis an impressive feat, even with the game’s excellent customization options. The Redditor used the character creator to give their Hunter the illusion of having Hornet’s large black eyes. They then used a Numinous Shroud Alpha shroud from therecently added Zoh Sia setto make the high neckline of Hornet’s cloak and the Lala Barina dress for the bottom part, both dyed a deep red.
A Zoh Shia helmet tops the creation to complete the look by mimicking Hornet’s long horns. The overall look makes theMHWcharacter look like avery tall, eerily accurate version of Hornet.Fittingly, Hornet is using a Barina Perche Insect Glaive, which many fans in the comments note isthe perfect weapon for the insect-themed character. Not only does it use insects to fight, but it also resembles Hornet’s iconic needle weapon.

Hollow Knight Palico In Monster Hunter Wilds Is Adorable
The Smaller Companion To Silksong’s Hornet
Turning the character’s Palico into the Hollow Knight works well, since the Knight is canonically smaller than Hornet. In the in-game cosplay, the Hollow Knight Palico is depictedwearing the Death Stench outfit combined with the iconic Bone Helm. The headgear is the perfect choice for the Hollow Knight lookalike Felyne since the skull-like help and its two feathers resemble the Hollow Knight’s face and horns.
Hollow Knight: Silksongisn’t out just yet, but the recent Nintendo Direct announced that the game would finally arrive soon. Fans ofHollow Knighthave been eagerly awaiting its release after six years of quiet development, and the hype has recently been building even more thanks to its release announcement. Until the game (hopefully) finallylaunches in 2025 as promised, fans can follow in mr-sasageyo’s footsteps and recreate the characters inMonster Hunter Wilds.
