Despite being on manyprediction lists for E3 every summer, it has been years since gamers had the chance to return to the world ofFable. The community may not still be waiting for an official return to the popular franchise, but one incredibly talented environmental artist has taken matters into their own hands to see what Fable would look like running in a modern gaming engine.

Marci Nyiri has used their skills to recreate the iconic Chapel of Skorm fromFable: The Lost Chaptersin Unreal Engine 4. As fans might expect, the result looks incredible and really reminds gamers both how cool the setting of Fable is and how far game engines have come in recent years.

Unfortunately, the Unreal Engine 4 rebuilt of this environment is not open to the public, so gamers can’t download it and go for a stroll through the woods themselves. Nyiri has shared a detailed video walkthrough of the area though, so fans can watch the full demo to see what a modern remake could potentially look like.

In the early summer of 2019, there were tons of rumors and leaks that suggested thatFable 4was going to be announced in the near future. When the announcement never ended up arriving during E3 2019 or the subsequent summer gaming events, fans began to lose hope.

As the next generation of consoles draws closer, it does seem like a possibility that Fable 4 could potentially be saved for theXbox Series X launch. It will be very interesting to see what games are confirmed for the holiday 2020 launch later this year and if a newFable, or maybe even aFableremake, are on that list.

Hopefully someday in the near future there will be news about an official Fable remake or sequel. Be sure to check back for updates.
