From Peter Dinklage’s Leon Prater to Krysten Ritter’s Mia Lapierre, Dexter now has a lot of competition.

In introducing all those new characters,Dexter: Resurrectionmay have breezed past some important details. While not all the serial killers that Leon assembled to feed his morbid voyeurism revealed their life stories, we do know quite a bit about Dexter’s newest set of victims.Resurrectionintroduced seven new serial killers: here’s what we know about them.

8Dexter Morgan, “The Bay Harbor Butcher”

Played By: Michael C. Hall

The first and by far the most famous serial killer we meet inDexter: Resurrectionis the eponymous Dexter Morgan himself. Dexter has never been caught, but he has had several close calls with the law over the course offourDextershows. One such close call earned him the name “The Bay Harbor Butcher,” based on where he deposited his bodies.

Dexter’s modus operandi is fairly straightforward and well-known. Using the Code of Harry, Dexter only kills other killers (most of the time). Once he’s chosen a victim,Dexter stalks them, finds proof of their crimes, and knocks them out using a sedative called M99. He then ties them, naked, to a table using plastic sheeting and kills them in one of various ways.

Dexter also developed the habit of taking blood slides as trophies at some point in his killing career. Similarly, he eventually discovered that he could chop bodies up into nine separate pieces for easier transport and disposal. For years, Dexter used Bay Harbor, Miami, as his dumping ground. In New York, he incinerates his victims. Dexter has racked up over 150 kills since the 1990s.

7Ronald “Red” Schmidt, “The Dark Passenger”

Played By: Marc Menchaca

The first new serial killerDexter: Resurrectionintroduces us to is Ronald “Red” Schmidt. As a killer, Red went by the moniker “The Dark Passenger.” He earned that nickname for his modus operandi of getting into ride share cars as a passenger and sawing off the driver’s head using a gigli saw. Red would then take their driver’s licenses and smear them with blood as trophies.

Red later explained that he targeted ride share drivers because he blamed them for his father’s suicide. Red’s father saved up for a taxi medallion - a permit to drive a yellow cab in New York - only for rideshare apps to get wildly popular and make the value of the medallion plummet. Red’s father then died by suicide, and his head was cut off his body by a boat.

Red’s story ended when Dexter found out about him through Blessing Kamara and his friend.Despite Red wearing a camera-shy hoodie that used infrared lights to hide his face, Dexter was able to track him down and capture him. He then killed Red, stole his identity and fingerprint, and pretended to be the “Dark Passenger” to get into Leon Prater’s party.

6Mia Lapierre, “Lady Vengeance”

Played By: Krysten Ritter

The first of Leon’s dinner party guests to arrive was Mia Lapierre.Mia was a killer who the press dubbed “Lady Vengeance,” though she voiced her disdain for the name. She earned the moniker because, like Dexter, she targeted sexual predators and rapists exclusively. A news story also revealed that Mia bludgeons her victims to death and gouges their eyes out. She operates in Boston.

When she’s not killing as Lady Vengeance, Mia works as a sommelier and runs as a hobby. She also had an immediate chemistry with Dexter and revealed a lot about her past. Thus,we know that Mia had mother issues, became a ballerina to get away from her mother’s boyfriend, who was a pedophile and a rapist. Mia then killed him to protect her younger sister, Hazel.

5Al Jolly, “Rapunzel”

Played By: Eric Stonestreet

The third arrival at Leon’s dinner party was Al Jolly, also known simply as “Rapunzel.“Al earned his serial killer nickname because he cuts off the ponytails of his victims and keeps them as trophies. He gave several of them to Leon, but it isn’t yet clear how he kills his victims or how he chooses them.

Interestingly, Al also has a robust life outside murder.Al is married to a woman named Bonnie and they have four children; the youngest is named Mabel. He claimed that coming to New York and talking to other killers has helped him separate his kills from his family and that he views it as a form of self-care. Dexter actually took Al’s advice to heart for a while.

4Lowell, “The Tattoo Collector”

Played By: Neil Patrick Harris

The next arrival was Lowell, also known as “The Tattoo Collector.” As the name implies,Lowell earned his moniker because he chooses victims with tattoos and skins their bodies to take the tattoos as trophies. He worked as an anesthesiologist by day, and he used anesthesia to subdue his victims. He also revealed that he picks victims based on their tattoos, not just because they have them.

Between Lowell’s presentation at Leon’s party and his conversation with Dexter, we know a lot about his interior life.Lowell claimed that taking his victims' skins helped him calm down and relieve the “pressure” he was feeling to kill. Without it, he claimed, he would have killed much more frequently and gotten much sloppier.

Dexter then took a blood slide trophy from Lowell, stabbed him in the heart, and cremated his remains in the same place he disposed of Red.

Ultimately, Lowell became Dexter’s second victim inDexter: Resurrection. Hoping to save the life of Lowell’s next victim, Dexter stalked him and knocked him out with his own anesthesia.Dexter then took a blood slide trophy from Lowell, stabbed him in the heart, and cremated his remains in the same place he disposed of Red.

3Gareth, “The Gemini Killer”

Played By: David Dastmalchian

By far the most mysterious serial killer inDexter: Resurrectionso far is Gareth, also known as “The Gemini Killer.“Aside from his moniker, we know almost nothing about Gareth. The other killers at Leon’s party claimed he was the stereotypical creepy loner. He also described his urge to kill as “the great yearning.” We don’t even know why he’s called Gemini yet, though it may be a play on the real-world Zodiac Killer.

2Keith, “The Canton Clubber”

Played By: Max von Essen

One of Leon Prater’s guests didn’t actually make it to the dinner party.Keith, also known as “The Canton Clubber,” was killed by Charley after he asked Leon for more money. As such, we don’t know much about him beyond his name, his weapon of choice, and his location.

Clearly, Keith was based in Canton, Michigan. He used a baseball bat with nails drilled into it as a weapon and, based on his name, likely beat his victims to death with it. It’s not clear who his victims were or how long he knew Leon. Keith’s death did, however, make it clear that breaking one of Leon’s rules is more than enough reason to die.

1"The New York Ripper”

Played By: Unknown

The last new serial killer introduced inDexter: Resurrectionactually hasn’t been properly introduced yet.Resurrectionepisode 4 mentioned but did not show a serial killer known only as “The New York Ripper.“Leon noted that the Ripper used a long, pointed tool to kill his victims and that they killed people in the same neighborhood he grew up in.

And Justice for All

We also know that the Ripper was never caught.Leon confirmed that, but Detective Claudette Wallace also has a history with the Ripper. Melvin Oliva hinted that Claudette was obsessed over the Ripper investigation and almost got fired because she fixated on it too much. It’s also implied that the Ripper has gone dormant for some time.

The identity of the New York Ripper is a mystery for now, but it likely won’t be for much longer.Resurrectionis clearly building up the Ripper as one of Dexter’s future victims and possibly even a character we’ve already met. Whoever the Ripper turns out to be, they’ll have to watch out for Dexter inDexter: Resurrection.
