What To Play Next
Personally,my most anticipated Switch 2 release this August is the updated version ofKirby and the Forgotten Land. I really enjoyed the original version - its pleasant platforming and wide variety of transformations - on the Switch 1, and I’m looking forward to the newStar-Crossed Worldcontent when it’s released on Switch 2. If you’re looking for another platformer toplay afterDK Bananza, this is an excellent choice.
In addition, theStory of Seasons: Grand Bazaarremake looks pretty interesting. A Switch 2 version of the DS classicHarvest Moon: Grand Bazaar, this is a solid entry in one of the original cozy game series. If you love a life sim - especially one with a lively marketplace andplenty of romance options- this is one to watch.
I’m also anticipatingtheOFFre-release later this month. An incredibly influentialRPG Makergame of the early 2000s,OFF’s uncanny setting, dark humor, and unique gameplay are owed a debt by later games likeUndertale- whose creator, Toby Fox, composed new music for the new version.
Other than that, I’m looking forward to taking the bloody arcade chaos ofHouse of the Dead 2home with me.Drag x Drive, Nintendo’s three-on-three wheelchair basketball game using the Switch 2’s mouse controls, also looks unique. And although I’m personally not a bigMaddenguy, I have to imagineit’s cool for fans of the series to have a portable versionof the world’s biggest football video game franchise.
And that’s about all we know of coming to Nintendo’s handhelds this month. It looks to be a pretty exciting August forNintendo Switch 2owners especially, although original Switch players can still get in on the fun.
