The Sims 4is once again releasing new content to enhance its gameplay. When it comes toThe Simsfranchise, it’s common for there to be frequent updates and additions to help perfect your life simulation. These additions take various forms, such as Expansion Packs, free DLC, and Kits.
Additional content coming on June 14, 2025, will focus on the essentials of day-to-day life inThe Sims 4. You will now be able to embrace messes with Kitchen Clutter, dirty up your hands with Restoration Workshop, and celebrate the late stages of your sim’s life with The Golden Years.

EAreleased information about the new upcoming kits that are to be released for Sims 4, one of which allows you to do repairs in your own workshop. You will now have the ability torevive various appliancessuch as coffee makers, stoves, and microwaves with your Handiness Skill.
Bringing these broken appliances back to life will not onlyincrease your Sim’s Handiness Skillbut also allow them to continue to enjoy the items they love the most. EA mentioned the Game Designer on this Kit, Danny Kovacs, reminisced about the workshops he grew up in at his home.

With the base game, while you can fix appliances to increase your handiness skills, you’re not given any specific tools to do so. Your Sim just pulls out whatever tool they need while they attempt to fix whatever is broken. You also run therisk of electrocuting yourself, one of theleading causes of death in the game, on certain appliances if your skill level is too low. While it’s uncertain whether the mechanics of the Handiness skill will be altered, it does appear that you will still be working toward increasing this skill to fix things.
This kit will include various pieces of furniture to help you build your very own workshop at home. While you already have access to the woodworking table that allows Sims to craft various items, you will now have modular shelves filled with tools, and woodworking benches that have a thick layer of dust covering them. On top of all of that, you’ll havewater heaters, fuse boxes, and a floor fanthat’s fully functional to help create your dream workshop.
It’s the little details, such as the thick layer of dust, that glue this content together, creating a more authentic feel. It is currently unclearwhether the tools on the shelves will be functionalor if they will only be for aesthetic purposes. However, if the other kits are anything to go by, you will likely be able to physically use them. In a way, this kit complements one of the latest expansions,Businesses and Hobbies,as you can create your own business and focus on increasing your skills.

Create A Realistic Kitchen Mess
The kitchen is well known as the center of a home for most. This is where the family gathers and chaos reigns, especially for those who are just learning to cook. Currently, while there may be a small mess with a dirty dish or grime from an unwashed surface, the game doesn’t capture the essence of a true lived-in kitchen. Manykitchen cosmetics aren’t functionalwith the base game, such as the spice rack and fruit bowl.
With this new kit, the kitchen will become the center of your Sim family. Not only did Danny Kovacs have fond memories of spending time in home workshops growing up, but he also recalled how, when he first saw the messy, cluttered kitchen in this Kit, he immediately thought it looked like home. As of right now, inSims 4, when your sim does the dishes,they automatically disappear.From what Kovacs mentions, that will soon be a thing of the past.
The kitchens will now have a lived-in feel with stacks of dishes waiting to be put away,scattered grocery bags, and food containerson the counters. The fridge will now have magnets, notes, and artwork on it as well. But the Kitchen Clutter Kit isn’t just for cosmetic purposes, as there will be an actual function for most items. Your Sim can grab a cookie from the cookie jar, pack food in the lunchbox, and purchase ingredients for meals from the grocery bag.
Every telltale sign that a busy family lives in the house will be displayed through this kitchen kit. However, this also means there will potentially be more messes for your Sims to clean. This is something you will want tokeep in mind when deciding on the household sizeyou want to create for this kit.

Elders are the foundation of both real-life society and the world ofThe Sims. This generation of Sims will finally get to enjoy what they’ve worked so hard for. Previous expansions like theacclaimedGrowing Togetherhelped to further develop relationships within a family, but this new kit is being released tocelebrate just the elderly.
Throughout the life of a Sim,their personalities and styles evolveuntil they become an elder. This can happen anywhere between 59 and 472 days in the game, depending on the length of the lifespan you’ve chosen. With this kit, they can now express their individuality. There will be comfortable clothes made specifically for their life stage that complement the activities they like to do, such as gardening or exercising.
More accessories will be added as well, including glasses with eyewear retainers so that Sims don’t misplace their specs, gardening gloves, and even toupees for those who wish to bring a little youth back into their life. This will be thefirst kit to focus solely on the elderly Sims, enhancing their lives and potentially giving them one last chance to leave behind a legacy before their time is up.
If you have the base game ofSims 4, these kits will be free to download along with the game’s updates. As with other content additions to the game, there will be minimum system requirements, so be sure to check for any compatibility issues. These kits will beavailable for PC and console.To update the game when the kits are released, open up the launcher and click on ‘update’. If you don’t notice an update forThe Sims 4, reboot the launcher and check again.
