Dredge’s Best Before Pursuit tasks players with brining an aged Conger Eel to the Ingfell Resident. The first step toward addressing this task is locating a Conger Eel, and indeed these creatures can be quite elusive. For those players that are having some trouble finding a Conger Eel inDredge, this guide is here to help.
Dredge: Conger Eel Location
Players that are on the hunt for a Conger Eel should begin by waiting fornightfall. Indeed, these aquatic creatures can only be found after the fog rolls in, and fans that look during the day will not have any success. Additionally,Dredgeplayersshould ensure that they have rod that is capable of fishing inShallowwater installed before setting out.

Once these preparations have been made, players that look around the perimeter of theGale Cliffswill find several fishing spots that are populated with Conger Eels. One of those spots is in thenorthwest corner of P4, and it has been marked on the map that is below. Players can also catch Conger Eels in the interior of the Gale Cliffs at night, including at thecenter of 03, though those are more hazardous waters to traverse.
After catching a Conger Eel, players should make their way to a nearby dock and rest until the creature’s condition is indicated as “rotting.” Fans are then free to return to the Ingfell Resident in order to complete the Best Before Pursuit and claim their reward. More specifically, players that address thisDredgeside questwill receive $150, which they can put toward equipment, upgrades, and materials.
To note, the Conger Eel is certainly not the only rare creature that calls the Gale Cliffs home, as the Oarfish is also found within this area. For the uninitiated, that exotic fish plays a role inDredge’s Recording Rarities Pursuit, and it can be found behind the waterfall in O3. Players will need an Abyssal rod to catch the Oarfish, though, and they are unlikely to have such a piece of equipment when they are working on the Best Before Pursuit.
That said, fans without an Abyssal rod may still want to pass through the Gale Cliffs' waterfall when they are in the area, as there is sheet of Refined Metal in the alcove beyond. Indeed, this is a very importantmaterial inDredge, which is used to perform hull upgrades, and players should not miss out on opportunities to obtain it for free.
