Although theDragon Ball Superepisode where the fighters play baseball may be the freshest on many’s minds, it’s actually not the first episode in the franchise to feature America’s pastime. The Buu Sagaactually featured Gohan playing baseball in one episode in an attempt to fit in at his high school, and according to recent leaks, Gohan may be playing baseball again inDragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
This information comes from a leak received second hand by Ken Xyro, a translator and YouTuber with a passion forDragon Ball Z: Kakarot. As such, this should be taken with a grain of salt, but Xyro expects this information to be confirmed in the coming days when the publication goes live with it.

According to Xyro,DBZ: Kakarotmay feature baseball in some form, perhaps one of the many mini-games or a sidequest, and will see Gohan batting and either Yamcha orVegetapitching. If this proves to be true, then many may see it as a welcome break from constant fighting. Xyro also states that the leak reveals Yakon and PuiPui will appear in the game.
Yakon and PuiPui, for those who don’t remember, are two fighters that Goku and Vegeta have to face when trying to reach Babidi andMajin Buuearly in the Buu Saga. Because of their role, these fights could easily be skipped over inDragon Ball Z: Kakarotwithout any seriously repercussions. So, if nothing else, their inclusion alongside baseball shows how deeply this game is intended to explore DBZ.
On one hand, this news may come as a bit of a shock, as it’s not the typical MO for aDBZgame, yet the developer and publisher have promised this to be the most thorough telling of the Z Saga thus far. On the other hand, filler content such as whenGoku and Piccolo tried to get their drivers' licenseshas already been confirmed forDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, so maybe it shouldn’t be too surprising.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 17th, 2020.
