A new subsidiary studio is being opened byDontnod Entertainment, the French game developer best known forRemember Me,Life is Strange, and most recentlyTell Me Why.Dontnod’s primary studio will remain in Paris, while its new studio will open in Montreal, Quebec in Canada. As for the direction of the studio, it’s being helmed and staffed by many of the developers behindLife is Strange. And better yet, they already have a new project in mind.

The new Dontnod studio’s Studio Executive Producer will be Luc Baghadoust, who produced theLife is Strangetitles. Baghadoust is joined by Michael Koch, director on theLife is Strangetitles, as the studio’s Creative Director. Other members of theLife is Strangeteam are also said to be a part of the studio. Baghadoust says that he’s lived in and fell in love with Montreal since the end ofLife is Strange 2. He believes that “Montreal’s energy and creativity are palpable” and sees it as an honor for Dontnod to become a part of the scene.

With that in mind, Baghadoust says the new wing of Dontnod is already hard at work. Baghadoust tells of a “genesis” of new characters and plots that he hopes “will speak and touch many players around the world.” The team’s experiences withDontnod’s previous projectswill directly influence and empower what’s coming next. And with that in mind, Dontnod confirms that the new Montreal studio will be working on a new narrative game set in a new IP.
