Deep within a mystically constructed tower, the heroes discover thatDoctor Doom has imprisoned the entirety of Latveria, draining their life energy to power his magic. While Doom protests that his people volunteered to support him,allof Latveria are here, including the country’s children. Revealing this horrifying sacrifice to the world is the first time that the Avengers have been able to damage Doctor Doom’s reputation since he took over the planet.
While Doctor Doom pretends to be a noble person, everything he does comes from his own ego and desire for power and control. So far, Earth has largelyaccepted that Doctor Doom is a fit leader, especially as he vastly improves the life of the average person. However, Doom will always want more power, and he’ll sacrifice anyone to get it.
