It’s not uncommon for different development companies to express admiration or some form of welcome message when a competitor manages to put out its products. For instance, Sony and Microsoft have shared laughs in the past, and so hasPUBG’s creator with practically every battle royale title to hit the market, includingApex Legends. Now,The Division 2andWarframehave shared welcome messages for BioWare’s latest action RPG,Anthem.
This type of warm atmosphere is almost always welcome in the gaming community, as all gamers know that video games are more than just competition. Because of this open atmosphere, competing games can show their appreciation for one another, which is what the Ubisoft creative director behindThe Division 2did. Congratulating BioWare for the “beautiful and ambitious project” that isAnthem, Julian Gerighty also highlighted his love for the Colossus Javelin.
Warframe, in the same vein, congratulated BioWare, and promised to see them in-game, while sharing artwork that showcasedWarframeandAnthemside-by-side. This led some to hope that a crossover could occur between the games at some point after launch. Many may note that, while the launch ofAnthemhas not been perfect,BioWare is actively listening to its community, which is likely to be seen as another welcome sight.
In reply toWarframe,Anthemposted a GIF fromStep Brotherswhere Will Ferrell asks John C. Reilly if they just became best friends.Warframe, in kind, also responded with a GIF of the two figures high fiving. Of course, this is by no means a confirmation that crossover content for the two will occur, but it does add to the high spirits surroundingAnthem’s launch.
For those wondering what to expect beyond launch, it’s also worth mentioning that BioWare has shared a90-day roadmapforAnthem, giving players their first glimpse into what’s coming. And ifAnthemcan keep this content coming, the spirits around the game will hopefully remain strong for some time to come.
Anthemis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
