Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Emotional Rescue update is dropping this week, and while it’s exciting to be getting some fresh new faces in the valley, Gameloft has announced something even more exciting that will be coming as part of this update as well. One of the most frustrating parts of DDV will be getting a major quality of life overhaul.

As part of their line ofupdates about Emotional Rescue, which releases onAugust 20th, 2025,Disney Dreamlight Valleytook the time to share some patch notes onX, and even a deep dive into the exciting changes specifically coming to Star Paths. Some of which might even make this the best updateDisney Dreamlight Valleyhas seen this year.

Not only will the overall time be extended, but a “new addition” will help ensure that everyone has time to complete the Star Path this season.

Time-Consuming Duties Are A Thing Of The Past

Progress Will Be Possible For All Players In The Retro Roadtrip Star Path

While a large portion ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’s players have been playing for months or even years at this point and have many of the basic features and characters unlocked, that’s not the case for everyone. Previously,Star Paths were quite difficult to completeand often required duties that involved serving guests at specific restaurants or gifting to a villager you might not have yet, and that meant that players without those features couldn’t progress that task.

Thankfully, that is no longer going to be an issue. To make the Star Path equally accessible to everyone,Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas removed the following duties:

In addition to these changes, players will also receive five additional days to complete the Star Path, to allow more time to complete tasks. As a result, this also means that theredemption period will be shortened to 48 hoursfollowing the conclusion of the Star Path.

Routine Duties Will Ensure Nobody Misses Out On Rewards

Weekly Tasks Will Allow Players To Earn All The Tokens They Need

On top of the changes coming to the regular Star Path duties,DDVwill be implementing a new system called Routine Duties. This will not replace regular Star Path duties, as those will still be available, but it will offer an extra alternative way to complete tasks and earn the tokens you need to get to the Bonus Rewards section of the Star Path.

Routine Duties will be themed duties that rotate out each week on Wednesday at 9 am EST, which should be the same time as yourDDVpremium shop updateseach week. While there aren’t that many of them, these duties will reward significantly more tokens per task, so you won’t need to worry about not having enough to unlock rewards anymore.

That being said, you will have to complete the weeks in order. So week one’s duties will need to be completed before week two, even if you start the Star Path once week two is already unlocked. However,Premium Star Path players will not need to complete the weeks in order; even if you have not completed all of week 1, you may begin week 2 once it’s unlocked.

Overall, these changes will ensure that players no longer need to fear missing out on rewardsjust because they can’t complete a single task, and will ensure things don’t get too repetitive for those who choose to grind for Tokens. Although the patch notes do state this is a temporary change, it’s likely just becauseDisney Dreamlight Valleywants to see player reactions first, but I have a feeling the feedback will be positive, and the changes might end up becoming permanent.

Disney Dreamlight Valley

In Disney Dreamlight Valley, players will create their own Disney avatar as they interact with some of the most iconic characters in Disney and Pixar history. The story surrounds the dream castle and the realm it resides in, which is a place where several characters, hero and villain alike, have lived together in harmony. However, an evil force known as the Forgetting consumes the kingdom. It’s up to the player to solve puzzles, reunite characters, and embark on feature-rich character storylines to save the Dream realm.
