Photo mode inDisney Dreamlight Valleyis about to get a huge upgrade in the game’s next big free update,Wonderland Whimsy.The update will bringAlice in Wonderlandcharacters to the Valley, complete with a new Realm, Friendship quests, decor items, and more. As always, the free update will also include several quality-of-life upgrades that are nearly as exciting as the new content.

The patch notes forWonderland Whimsyhave been shared on theDisney Dreamlight Valleywebsite, confirming some upcoming changes that were only briefly shown in theDeveloper Update earlier this week. One of these features is thephoto mode, which will become much more robust and versatilewhen the update arrives inDreamlight Valleyon April 23.

Dreamlight Valley Camera Update Will Give Players More Settings

At the moment, the camera feature is afun way to capture moments in-game, but it’s fairly limited. There are several poses and facial expressions, and the option to rotate the camera or switch to full-body mode. Any Valley residents who are nearby when you whip out the camera for a selfie will join the photo with their own unique pose. Besides those fun features, though, the camera mode has very few options, restricting players to the current lighting and the “default” camera settings.

According to the newly shared patch notes, “photo mode improvements” are coming toDreamlight Valleythat willgive players much more controlover how their photos turn out. The feature can be briefly glimpsed in the Developer Update from earlier this week, and will now include sliders for the following options:

The patch notes add that two new poses will be added, as well asthe option to “add or remove specific elements,“though the notes don’t elaborate on what these elements might be.

Photo mode isn’t the only feature that’s getting an upgrade in theWonderland Whimsyupdate. Besides being able to fine-tune the settings for the camera, more exciting QOL updates are coming to the Valley on April 23. The upcoming changes include the highly requested option to upgrade storage chests and closets (although some players are miffed that the feature willuse Dreamlight and not Gold), a sub-grid for more precise object placement, andthe freedom to select any layout in the house expansion feature.

The game’s main menu is also getting an overhaul, complete with a new background image and a new space where news will be displayed. As always, several bugs will be squashed as part of the update, and players can expect to find even more fun surprises and new features—includingPremium ShopStar Warsitems!—whenWonderland WhimsyhitsDisney Dreamlight Valleyin just a few days.
