After a rough couple of years of PR mishaps, Activision Blizzard is looking to make 2021 a big comeback year with numerous releases for some of its biggest games. For Blizzard and its fans, 2021 marks a year that will see the return of theDiablofranchise. With most fans focused onDiablo 2: ResurrectedsinceDiablo 4won’t make it this year, it seems anotherDiablotitle will release in its stead.
Diablo Immortal, the free-to-play mobile game, is “on track” to meet its global 2021 release window according to a recent Activision Blizzard earnings report. While not all that surprising giventhe recentDiablo Immortalclosed alpha that was held last month, this is the first confirmation that the game will be coming this year. This news coincides with the confirmation that the mobile title has entered its second phase of testing.

IfDiablo Immortalis able follow through on the expected 2021 release, the game will arrive three years after its infamous announcement at BlizzCon 2018. The reveal ofDiablo Immortalwas met with a harsh negative response by fans in attendance as the game capped off the BlizzCon conference with a Q&A session.
WhileDiablo Immortalis still only “expected” to meet its intended release this year, the upcomingDiablo 2: Resurrectedis confirmed for a 2021 launchon PC and consoles. The long rumoredDiablo 2remaster was officially announced earlier this year to the joy of fans who have long awaited the chance to relive one of Blizzard’s most beloved titles. While there is some hesitation following the highly criticized release ofWarcraft 3: Reforged, many fans were happy to learn developer Vicarious Visions would be handling the remaster.
Diablo Immortalis expected to release on Android and iOS devices later this year.
