The first two episodes ofResurrectionreceived 3.1 million viewers over the weekend on Paramount+ and Showtime’s broadcast station. While the record only applies to views from Paramount+,Resurrectionhas still beaten other Showtime hits likeYellowjacketsand evenDexter: Original Sin.

Dexter Is Clearly Still Showtime’s Most Successful Franchise & Has An Even Better Chance Of Being Renewed

While shattering the record and becoming Showtime’s most-streamed premiere is a good thing in and of itself,Dexter: Resurrectionhas more to celebrate than just that.This news proves one thing above all else: even after 19 years and several other successful shows,Dexteris still Showtime’s biggest hit.Resurrectionproves that viewers still want more of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall).

That’s also tremendous news forResurrection’s chances of being renewed for a second season.Resurrectionis clearly a hit and a moneymaker for both Showtime and Paramount+, so there’s basically no reason why it wouldn’t return for a second season.
