The first Iron Banner event after the release of the latestDestiny 2expansion,Warmind,is live, but many players, especially solo players, are unhappy about the matchmaking in this Iron Banner event. Recently, Bungie has introduced anew matchmaking systeminto the game that helps avoid solo players matching with pre-made fireteams, but only for the game’s standard playlists and not one-off events like Iron Banner.

At the moment during matchmaking, solo players are getting teamed up against co-ordinated fireteams instead of getting matched up against other solo players or getting matched up with other co-ordinated fireteams. This inevitably causes a lot of frustration for solo players, as it increases their chances of losing Iron Banner matches, which makes it hard to increase their standing with Lord Saladin and earn exclusiveSeason 3 Iron Banner rewards.

Initially, in a tweet,Destiny 2Crucible Lead Derek Carroll addressed this issue and assuredDestiny 2players that this matchmaking problem would be resolved before the end of the Iron Banner event. Very recently though, Community Manager Deej notifiedDestiny 2players that, even though Bungie is working on a fix for this problem, the fix will only go live after the Iron Banner event ends on Tuesday, May 29th.

Unfortunately for many solo players, they might miss out on some of the Iron Banner items this time, but this fix will hopefully improve matchmaking for future Iron Banner events in Season 3 and beyond. A bigger concern forDestiny 2players right now though seems to be the Iron BannerSalute of the Lords emotethat is locked behind the Eververse store for 1100 silver, which equates to about $10.

Once again, the Eververse store is causing more controversy and unhappiness among players than any other issue thatDestiny 2is facing right now. We are yet to see whether Bungie will be as efficient in addressing players' complaints surrounding the emote as it has been in addressing the matchmaking problem.

Destiny 2: Warmindis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
