TheMonte Carlois a fantastic auto riflein the Kinetic slotthat lets players regain their melee cooldown quickly. As such, it pairs well with any builds that rely on melee kills and spamming melee abilities. Now, with its Catalyst, the weapon has received a whole new animation and dimension to its archetype. Here’show to get theMonte CarloCatalyst inDestiny 2.
How To Get TheMonte CarloCatalyst
To get theMonte CarloCatalyst inDestiny 2, players will need to hit the game’s playlist activities. This means playing eitherVanguard strikes of any level, any Crucible mode, as well as Gambit. The drop is therefore entirely random and RNG dependent, though based on Bungie’s past track record with brand-new Catalyst, the chance of it dropping should be fairly high.

Once players do get the Catalyst, like all the rest, it needs to be upgraded in order for it to be applied to the weapon and Masterworking it.TheMonte CarloCatalyst requires 700 killsfor a full upgrade, which shouldn’t be too difficult for players to farm, since the Exotic auto rifle is a primary weapon that requires no ammo pick-ups.
What TheMonte CarloCatalyst Does
TheMonte CarloCatalyst grants the auto rifle a brand-new perk calledStochasticVengeance. This allows players toaccess the weapon’s iconic bayonet and use it as a glaive-like melee weapon, once they’ve reached 5 stacks ofMarkov Chain. Note that activating this alternate firing mode will replace the player’s melee attack with the bayonet, similar to a glaive’s melee.
Hitting targets with the bayonet also charges the player’s melee ability, which further bolsters this weapon’s viabilityin melee-centric builds.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
