Readers only had three issues to get to know this future’s Daredevil, but his badass last hurrah inDaredevil: Cold Day in Hellmakes him one of thebest Daredevil variants in Marvel Comics. After saving the newly-superpowered Tyra and seemingly inspiring her heroic future in his final moments, Old Man Daredevil truly made his mark on the Marvel Multiverse.

Just after Bullseye committed his final act of disservice, Daredevil knew he only had one move left in him after being beaten and exhausted in his old age, and that was to inspire Tyra to be a hero. As Tyra’s powerful light shines bright, the famously Catholic Marvel herois happy to see his sacrifice as part of God’s plan.

Tyra’s origin is somewhat vague, butthe universe’s Old Man Captain Americaalso knew that she was part of a bigger plan. While villains wanted to use her powers for evil as part of what they were calling a“New Warriors”program, Tyra’s interactions with the dying Daredevil and Punisher could make her the hero that this universe clearly needs.

Will This Future Have"New Warriors"?

In only three issues,Daredevil: Cold Day in Hellmanaged to end Matt Murdock’s story with a seriously satisfying bang. However, the fight for good in Soule and McNiven’s cold future is far from over after Daredevil’s sacrifice. Since it is actually the name of anunderrated Marvel Comics superhero team, perhaps Tyra could actually start her universe’s New Warriors.

With new super-powered individuals being quickly created in the alternate future and classic Marvel Comics heroes quickly dying out, Matt Murdock’s powerful speech to Tyra could still set his alternate future on a path to success. Marvel may have just killed off one of its best versions ofDaredevil, but the futuristic story ultimately proved the fearless hero’s inspirational legacy.
