While another previous Vita exclusive inPersona 4 Goldenwas released on PC in 2020, fans have been able to playDanganronpaon various platforms for quite some time.
All 3 mainline games are available on PC and PS4 for a few years now, andDanganronpa Decadencewas released on the Switchjust last month. In addition, the first two games are also available on mobile devices. While it looked like Xbox was being completely ignored by the developer, Spike Chunsoft has just made a surprising announcement that will delight Xbox fans.

The Anniversary Edition ofDanganronpa: Trigger Happy Havocis now available on Xbox consoles for $14.99. More importantly, it will be a part of Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC. The anniversary edition is not that different from the original release, with a Gallery being its main feature. This marksDanganronpa’s debut on Xbox, and ports for the entire trilogy are probably also in development.
This is not the first time a Spike Chunsoft game has appeared on Xbox, asAI: The Somnium Fileswas released on Xbox Game Passin September 2021. Its sequel,AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative, is already announced for Xbox, along with all major platforms, and is currently scheduled to release in Spring 2022. Microsoft may even decide to addNirvana Initiative as a day 1 release to the Xbox Game Pass library.
A recent survey hinted atDanganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girlsbeing released for the Switch, and it seems like Spike Chunsoft wants to make allDanganronpagames available on every platform imaginable. Unlike the main numbered games,Ultra Despair Girlsis a third-person shooter, and fans should consider playing it as a palate cleanser.
