Mario Karthasn’t always been the only kart racing game on the block, and it appears it’ll have a rival once again, as a remastered version ofCrash Team Racinghas finally been officially unveiled.

The remaster was announced by none other than the orange bandicoot himself at The Game Awards and appears to have received the sametotal-overhaul treatment as theN. Sane Trilogy. The announcement trailer uses PlayStation branding, though the game will be launching on PlayStation, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on July 13, 2025, which means the timed exclusivity may be dropped for future remastered titles as well.

The standard edition of the game will be available for $39.99, just as theN. Sane Trilogywas, with a deluxe edition of the game also being available for $59.99. The deluxe edition will include the racer Nitros Oxide, the self-proclaimed faster racer in the galaxy, as well as a few other goodies and skins for various characters.

The game wasoriginally teased a few days agowith a pair of fuzzy orange dice posted to Twitter, which immediately began making fans of theCrash Bandicootgames speculate about a potential remaster. Given the success of theN. Sane Trilogyand theSpyro Reignited Trilogy,it certainly makes sense that Activision would want release an updated version ofCrash Team Racing. The game isn’t as popular asMario Kart, but it holds a special place in the hearts of many fans that grew up playing PlayStation.

The question now is what other classic games could possibly be brought back in the form of a remaster. Many beloved franchises have been remastered or remade over the course of the past few years, with more, such asMedieval’s 4K remake, on the horizon. There are certainly still some that have been passed over, but the obvious list has now been more or less claimed.

Regardless,Crash Team Racingshould be a great addition to every gamer’s collection, and it’s great to see the game be made available to a whole new generation of gamers.

Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueledis slated to launch on July 06, 2025.
