As reported last week,Controlplayers on Xbox Series X have experienced several pressing issues since the release of the game’s next-generationUltimate Editionport. The main issuehas reportedly been frequent crashes, with players citing the title booting them back to the home screen several times during play sessions, even after reinstalling the game.
505 Games and Remedy publicly stated that they were looking into fixing the issue, and now, it seems the first of two patches slated to alleviate the problem will launch today. According to Remedy Communications Director Thomas Puha, theControlupdate will be available for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and will allegedly focus in part on fixing the crashing issues Xbox players have reported.

Alongside this, Puha also claims it will work on fixing some other mission-related issues that have been reported. The new update allegedly won’t entirely endXbox Series Xplayers' troubles, however, with the communications director claiming that a second patch is on the way that will continue working on the problem. In a follow-up tweet, Puha revealed that Remedy is “investigating Series X|S crashes with Microsoft, with a fix currently in testing.” This will supposedly drop a little bit later than today’s patch, although a date wasn’t given in the tweet.
Puha went on to discuss several other issues with players in the replies to his tweet. One fan asked whether the team was looking to adjust the black levels on thePlayStation 5, which the communications director denied, claiming it was a “complicated” issue to solve. Meanwhile, another wanted to know whether the team would consider implementing a new graphics mode for the game that combined 60 FPS gameplay and ray-tracing with 1080p visuals. Puha claimed the idea would result in “uneven performance,” explaining that getting the mode to work would be “way out of scope” for Remedy.
