New Maps & Modes In Black Ops 6 Season 5

Three New Maps & Three New Modes Come To Season 5

We’re anticipating the release of four new maps inBlack Ops 6Season 5:Runway, Exchange, WMD, and Jackpot.

Runway is a Core 6v6 map that’ll be available at launch, where you’ll fight through a derelict airport. Rush through destroyed airplanes to confuse your pursuers, crouch behind abandoned luggage at baggage claim, and watch out for snipers in the food court.

Exchange, meanwhile, is a 6v6 and 2v2 Strike mapset in an open-air market. Its mazelike structure and narrow lanes will force lots of chaotic confrontations.

We’re also due to seethe return of WMD, a classicBlack Ops 1map, in Season 5 ofBlack Ops 6. This map takes you to a luxury car manufacturer, with two roundabout lanes circling a huge central building. WMD joins the Core 6v6 roster in Season 5.

Finally,Jackpot comes toBlack Ops 6during the Reloaded season. This is an opulent casino map for Core 6v6 modes, likely inspired by the Casino map fromBlack Ops 4.

As for new game modes, we’ve got two new ones for Season 5:Aim High and Cranked Demolition. As its name implies, Aim High incentivizes headshots and penalizes everything else. A headshot means instant death, and any shots below the neck will deal significantly less damage. Aim High will be available at season launch.

Cranked Demolition blends elements of Cranked and Demolition modes. You’ll compete to find and deactivate the enemy’s bomb sites, and vice versa, with the addition of the Cranked status effectboosting a player’s movement speed, reload, and ADS after they get a kill or assist. However, if they fail to get another by the time the status effect expires, they’ll explode.

As for returning modes,we begin with Snipers Only, which we’ll see mid-season. Again, the name says it all: you can only play with a sniper rifle, and your choice of perks is greatly restricted.

Cranked Moshpit also returns as an in-season drop, adding the Cranked mechanic to the chaotic party mode. Ransack, which challenges players to loot and deposit gold bars, also returns in-season, as does Blueprint Gunfight, 2v2 matches with random loadouts, including Weapon Blueprints.

To cope with the challenges, players can wielda new wonder weapon: the Gorgofex. Part-biological, part-machine, the Gorgofex is a living, breathing, alien-looking handgun that can fire charged attacks to deal damage over wide areas.

We’re also gettingnew Grief maps mid-season, along witha new field upgradethat allows us to use sentient teddy bear Mister Peeks as a weapon. Peeks will march into battle, attracting enemies to him before fighting them off. He also comes with a set of major and minor augments so you can customize how he plays.
