Borderlands 3is still months away from release, but some fans are already thinking ahead to the endgame content and post-launch support. And thanks to a recent interview withBorderlands 3lead boss designer Matt Cox, we know more about what fans can expect to do in the game after wrapping up the main quest line.
Speaking to VG 24/7, Cox revealed thatBorderlands 3will have special events and raids. While not specified by Cox, it’s implied that these special events and raids will come toBorderlands 3for free, as he made sure to mention that the game will have some premium DLC as well. As a matter of fact, Gearbox has four paid story expansions planned forBorderlands 3, though what those DLCs will be about is anyone’s guess at this point.

Based on what we know so far, it sounds likeBorderlands 3will provide a similar level of post-launch support as its predecessors when it comes to premium content, but should have more in the way of free events and the like. Additional details on theBorderlands 3endgame contentare unavailable at this time, but luckily Cox revealed when we can expect to learn more.
Cox said that more information onBorderlands 3will come “around E3” in June. Neither Gearbox nor 2K Games is hosting a press conference at E3, and since Sony is completely skipping E3 2019, it’s a safe bet that we will see more ofBorderlands 3in some capacity during Microsoft’s press conference. Then again, Gearbox may just be at the show itself and refrain from showingBorderlands 3on stage at all.
While E3 should bring even more information onBorderlands 3, we have already learned quite a bit about the game since its announcement at PAX. ABorderlands 3gameplay trailergave us our first look at some of its weapons, character abilities, vehicles, and more, and it will be exciting to see what else the highly anticipated game has to offer when it finally launches later this year.
Borderlands 3will launch on September 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
