Blasphemous’s launch in late 2019 was resoundingly well-received. The action-platformer delivered one of the most persuasiveDark Souls-to-2Dexperiences yet, while still maintaining a uniqueness that allowed it to stand apart. NowBlasphemousdeveloper The Game Kitchen intends to keep its momentum with the release of a free expansion. This isn’t just another DLC, however, as The Game Kitchen has partnered with ArtPlay to make a specialBloodstained: Ritual of the Nightcrossover expansion.
The DLC’s name is Strife & Ruin and its biggest addition is a crossover storyline withBloodstained. Players will findBloodstained’s protagonist Miriam within the game’s world, replete with voiceover, a new cinematic, and a mysterious shattered stained glass window. All The Game Kitchen is willing to say is that the player’s fate has been intertwined with Miriam’s. Perhaps these new Challenge Rooms are related.

The Game Kitchen also teases more, but leaves it ambiguous. Players will have to discover what’s in store for themselves.
To be clear, this is a new DLC expansion forBlasphemousthat crosses over withBloodstained. There’s no known DLC forBloodstainedrelated to the crossover at this time, thoughBloodstainedhas plenty of other crossover content. For example, its recentKingdom Two CrownsDLC, or itsShovel Knightcrossover from 2019. Odds are,Bloodstainedfans have even more crossovers to look forward to in the future. This crossover’s just forBlasphemous.
The freeBlasphemousStrife & Ruin DLC will be available starting February 18.
