E3 2019’s early June start date is less than three months away, andBethesda’s ready to join the ranks of publishers ready to start building up excitement for the event. Bethesda has now confirmed that its annual Bethesda E3 Showcase will be returning this year. Invitees can attend the #BE3 2019 event on Sunday, June 9 at 5:30 pm PT to see Bethesda’s pitch for its upcoming slate of games.
Bethesda isn’t ready to share its E3 secrets with fans just yet, but it couldn’t let the announcement of the Bethesda E3 Showcase for 2019 go without at least one confirmation. In its official news post, Bethesda listsDoom Eternalas the first confirmed game planned to be shown this year, with “much more” planned.
Doom Eternalwas first announced duringBethesda’s E3 Showcase in 2018, with the game’s development remaining relatively quiet since. Bethesda previously confirmed that id would be developingDoom Eternal’s multiplayer components in-house, promising a more social experience compared to 2016’s critically acclaimedDoom.Doom Eternalwill also have a single player campaign, a direct continuation of the previous game.
Bethesda and id clearly have plenty ofDoom Eternalto share with excited fans. It’s only fitting that the highly anticipated sequel be Bethesda’s first confirmed game for E3 2019.
BeyondDoom Eternal, Bethesda’s E3 line-up is a mystery. Bethesda’s current focus is onRage 2, but Avalanche’s sequel to id’s 2011 shooter will be released in May prior to E3. Bethesda announced bothStarfieldandThe Elder Scrolls 6in 2018, but were announced very early in development and may not appear at E3 again for some time.Wolfenstein: YoungbloodandCyberpilotcould make an appearance. Beyond that, both Arkane Studios and Tango Gameworks are working on unknown projects, and may be ready to share more information by E3.
Many were originally speculatingBethesdamight skip having an E3 press conference this year, as most of the publisher’s studios may not be ready to share games. Perhaps the upcoming Bethesda E3 Showcase will surprise everyone, though.
