Sony released a list of the most downloadedPlaystation 4games of October 2019. This list of best selling PS4 games only includes games downloaded via the PSN store, but the top sellers this month aren’t a huge surprise.
Via a post on the Playstation blog, Sony released the lists of best selling PS4 games in four separate categories: PS4 Games, PSVR Games, Free-To-Play Games, and DLC/Expansions. The number one on the PS4 list was, of course,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

It should not come as a shock to anyone thatModern Warfare, a much hyped reboot of one ofCoD’s most popular sub-brands, blew the competition out of the water last month, even though it was only out for six days in October. What was surprising was how well the apparentlydisappointingGhost Recon: Breakpointstill managed to be the second best-selling PS4 game of October, when its been out for almost two months now. Coming in third was Obsidian’s RPGThe Outer Worlds.
Another unsurprising chart-topper isFortniteas the top free to play game. Since introducingChapter 2, the already popular Battle Royale has seen even more attention. The other major Battle Royale on the marketApex Legendsfollows it up as the second most downloaded game.Beat Saber, SUPERHOT VR, andThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VRare the top three PSVR games of October.
Of the top five DLC and Expansions, three areFortniteDLC. The other two wereDestiny 2: Shadowkeep,coming in at number two, and a C.O.D.E Defender Pack forCall of Duty: Modern Warfarerounding out the top five.
While this list doesn’t fully account for games sold at retailers like Gamestop and through Amazon, it does give a general indication of how well these games are selling. However, the lists give no indication of which games have the highest revenue.
