In an interview with Screen Rant, Trey and Lorenzo spoke about their time onBattle Camptogether. Though the pair had a hard time getting along during their first series, both were more interested in starting fresh onBattle Camp.“I had so much loyalty to Trey,“Lorenzo explained, but after a while, he realized that hisSquid Game: The Challengeco-star was"the strongest person in there…so he had to be taken down.“While Lorenzo shared he enjoyed playing the game with Trey and felt he’d been loyal,he couldn’t sacrifice his game to keep someone else around.

Why Lorenzo Couldn’t Put His Full Trust In Trey

Lorenzo’s Been Burned Before

Although Lorenzo’s time onSquid Game: The Challengedidn’t necessarily colorall of hisBattle Campexperiences, his time with Trey certainly had a tinge to it coming into the new competition. WhileTrey and Lorenzo buried their beef after their first Netflix reality TV experience, it was clear that the pair was going to struggle socially with one another if they weren’t on the same team. With both explicitly saying they didn’t want to see one another on the way toBattle Camp, joining forces was one of the least expected things they could do in the game.

While Lorenzo is known more as a villain from his time onSquid Game: The Challenge, his experiences onBattle Campare far different than what he knew from reality TV before. Trey, who quickly became one of the most impressive strategists onBattle Camp, was clearly one of the strongest players on the show early on, and Lorenzo could tell that he would be helpful to keep around to a point. Joining forces withThe Circle’s Quori Tyler,Lorenzo was able to rally votes to get Trey’s name on the wheeland keep his friend none-the-wiser about his demise.
