A recent string ofanimeand manga cancellations and delays has affected another series:Go For It, Nakamura!The boys-love romantic comedy manga was planned to debut in 2025, but, according to a report posted byAnime News Network,production issues have delayed the anime’s release until 2026.

The original manga by Syundei gained quite a following, so fans were elated by the news of the upcoming anime adaptation. Unfortunately,Go For It, Nakamura!will be available much later than anyone expected because of the production challenges that Drive, the studio responsible for the adaptation, is currently facing.

The Go For It, Nakamura! Anime Has Been Delayed Until 2026

Originally, the Anime Was Set to Debut in 2025, but That Date Was Changed Because of Production Challenges

TheGo For It, Nakamura!anime was first announced in fall 2024, andCrunchyroll’s official website posted an announcementalong with the first trailer and casting list in November 2024. Crunchyroll also promised to includeGo For It, Nakamura!in the line-up available on their anime streaming service when it is released.

Go For It, Nakamura!began in 2014, and its most recent volume,Go For It Again, Nakamura!,was released in 2021.

Go For It, Nakamura!tells the story of a shy high schooler, Okuto Nakamura (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi), who pines for Aiki Hirose (voiced by Yuki Sakakihara), his classmate. Nakamura is afraid to confront Hirose in person and admit his feelings, but he must eventually muster up the courage to confess to his crush, as hard as it may be.

The manga began in December 2014 with a brief short, which was later expanded into a larger full manga volume in 2017. There is not just one series in this franchise; Syundei and publisher Seven Seas released a sequel titledGo For It Again, Nakamura!which was made available in 2021. Both series appeared in Akane Shinsha’s Opera magazine.

Although fans must wait a little while longer than initially projected forGo For It, Nakamura!to debut, the wait will be worth it. Stepping back to allow its animators and staff enough time to do the manga justice was a wise decision for Drive that will only make the anime more high-quality in the end.
