Yesterday,Assassin’s Creed Valhallawas revealed to the world, with the first promo art for the game being designed right before the eyes of fans worldwide. It confirmed the Viking Era setting, though exactly what time frame is still up for debate, and the design of theAssassin’s Creed Valhallaprotagonist.
In truth, this was just a tease, and tease it was. As BossLogic finished up the artwork, the screen cut to reveal that anAssassin’s Creed Valhallatraileris set to drop later today. It’s only a couple of hours away at this point, but Ubisoft took to Twitter to reveal something else entirely.

Ubisoft Montreal, lead developer on the project, thanked its 14 co-developer studios around the world. This show of gratitude and respect is remarkable, not only because of how complicated game design is, but howAssassin’s Creedstudios have a unique method of development at that. The big shocker, though, is that there were a total of 15 studios (including Montreal) working onAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, which is a total of 8 more studios thanAssassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Odyssey is not lacking in the content department, as the map is huge and the main story takes 40 hours to beat alone, with a completionist runthrough easily pushing this into hundreds of hours. IfAC Valhallais indeed larger thanks to the added manpower, the game sounds like it would be incredibly impressive. Of course, there’s a ton of possibilities here: perhaps the added manpower made the same size game in a shorter development window, or maybe some of the studios were working on small things. Either way, the manpower is essentially double that ofAssassin’s Creed Odyssey.
It’ll be interesting to see howUbisoft put all of this to work, how the game looks as a finished project, and how it compares to its predecessors, while hopefully forging its own identity. Regardless, fans will get their worldwide glimpse at the game in just a few hours.
