Ubisoft unveiled the next major DLC release forAssassin’s Creed Originstoday. Curse of the Pharaohs will be the second major DLC release for the latest iteration of theAssassin’s Creedfranchise. In Curse of the Pharaohs, players will travel to the city of Thebes and the nearby Valley of Kings, where the kings of old have risen once again. According to Ubisoft, Curse of the Pharaohs will launch across all supported platforms on March 13.
Bayek’s journey continues on Curse of the Pharaohs, with the opening of an entirely new region. Within the region, Bayek will have to confront the resurrected pharaohs of old, and through them visit their afterlives. The afterlife is unlike any area previously visited inAssassin’s Creed Origins, filled with figures and creatures as strange as they are wonderous – and dangerous.
While in the afterlife, Bayek will be tasked with confronting the five aspects of each pharaoh’s soul, including the human-faced birds that fly around in large numbers and are invulnerable to harm. Calming the pharaohs will beBayek’s main task, so to speak, and what better way to calm them than to defeat them in the normal realm and then pursuing them into the afterlife? The new content should be as challenging as anything in the base game, so players should expect a fight.
Regarding specific content additions withinAssassin’s Creed Origins, the DLC will raise the level cap to 55 and unlock 7 new abilities. Four of the abilities will improveBayek’s bow use, like inflicting Flesh Decay onto Predator Bow kills. There’s also the Favor of Osiris ability, which gradually refills tools and arrows while in the afterlife. But at 15 Action Points, players will have to work to earn such a strong ability.
Curse of the Pharaohs will be available individually and as part ofAssassin’s Creed Origins’Season Pass. Individually, the DLC will retail for a pricey $19.99 and will be available to download starting March 13 across all supported platforms.
Assassin’s Creed Originsis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
