Respawn’s new Battle Royale game,Apex Legendsbrought over some of the best weapons from its predecessor,Titanfall, but it appears that it’s time for the game’s arsenal to expand further, as a new weapon will be added to the game tomorrow.
A video posted to Twitter shows off the new assault rifle, though it employs the same glitch overlay that was used in the teases leading up to the game’s reveal, making the actual weapon itself a bit difficult to get a peek at. However, based on the text accompanying the teaser, it appears that this is the Havoc rifle that wasleaked a few days ago through data mining.
Based on the video, it appears that the Havoc will be some sort of energy rifle. It’s hard to get a truly accurate judgment of the weapon, but it does look like the gun will have a pretty quick fire rate. However, the original leak for the rifle found that there will be an accompanying mod that allows users to switch between full-auto and burst fire modes, though that hasn’t been confirmed quite yet.
The Havoc wasn’t the only weapon to have leaked in the last few days, though. The L-Star EMG was also found in the game’s files, though it’s unclear when that gun will be released into the wild. There’s a good chance it’ll land sometime in early March when the game gets itsFortnite-esque season.
Apex Legendshas had a ton of information leak through data mining thus far, including an upcoming mode that mayallow players to use both double jumps and wall-running. While it is cool to know what the developers are planning ahead of time, it does take away a little bit of the surprise from announcements like this. It’s impossible to truly stop leaks, but it would be nice to see data miners leave some things as a surprise.
There will likely be a lot more content dropping inApex Legendssoon, as other things, such as new characters, have also recently leaked. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly Respawn churns out content for the game’s fans, but they certainly seem to be ambitious.
Apex Legendsis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
