The newTwisted Metalseason 2 trailer teases chaos and mayhem with the goal of getting Calypso’s “wish.” When the adaptation of the video game franchise was announced, fans were unsure of how they would adapt the vehicular combat game into a show. The first season functions primarily as world-building and character introductions, but theend ofTwisted Metalseason 1sets up the tournament, which is the core concept of the video games. As such,Twisted Metalseason 2 will get into the story that fans are familiar with.

Twisted Metalseason 2’s trailer promises that the tournament will be just as violent and filled with mayhem as the video games, with the same end goal of getting Calypso’s free wish. John Doe, Quiet, and the outsiders will be competing to take down all the walls so that everyone has access to the same resources.

What Twisted Metal Season 2’s Trailer Means

Calypso Will Have His Wish-Granting Abilities From The Games

Although fans already knewCalypso would appear inTwisted Metalseason 2, it wasn’t clear whether they would include his supernatural abilities. In the video games, he’s able to literally grant any wish a person makes without limits. Mind you, he often gives them a less desirable outcome that technically fits their wish’s criteria like a djinn would. He’s teased to be an incredibly powerful manat the end of season 1, but power can come from resources instead of magic.

Luckily, the firstTwisted Metalseason 2 trailer hinted that Mr. Grimm might be the Grim Reaper, like in the games. Combining that with the new trailer, it’s highly likely that Calypso will have actual wish-granting abilities that come from magic instead of wealth or power.

Our Take On The Twisted Metal Season 2 Trailer

Twisted Metal Season 2 Can’t Come Soon Enough!

As a big fan of theTwisted Metalvideo games, there are so many great things to take away from the new season 2 trailer. I am excited that the Peacock show will be just as violent and packed with mayhem. That feels like a foundational piece of the video game franchise. I’m excited to see that the real Raven will be joining the Twisted Metal TV show. As much as I enjoy Neve Campbell, her character was almost nothing like the teen goth, witchy girl fromTwisted Metal Black.

What’s more, the news that Calypso will have wish-granting abilities makes me hopeful thatTwisted Metalvideo game characterslike Black, the demon that Calypso uses to grant wishes, and Mr. Ash, the leader of hell trying to get Black back, will eventually appear in the Peacock show.
