Viewers might tune in to see what Thor, Sass, Isaac, Hetty, Alberta, Flower, Pete, and Trevor are up to every week, but it is Rose McIver’s Sam and Utkarsh Amudkar’s Jay who facilitate the supernatural hijinks of the Woodstone Mansion’s inhabitants.
Ghostsisn’t even McIver’s first time tangoing with supernatural beings. Long beforeSam and Jay’sGhostsstorybegan, McIver starred as Olivia Moore iniZombie. Liv was a medical student who became a zombie as the show began, using her newfound undead status as a way to solve crimes. Liv consumed the brains of murder victims and temporarily gained both their personalities and their memories, using these to solve their murders while satiating her bloodlust ethically.

In 2022, Kohli was reunited with McIver for the movieNext Exit, and most recently, he appeared in Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation,The Life of Chuck. While speaking toScreenRantaboutWe Were Liars, Kohli was asked about aniZombierevival and gave a straightforward answer. Kohli said“I know we told the story that Rob Thomas wanted to tell, and that is, it is in its complete form. It’s so rare nowadays that you get to finish on your terms,” clarifying that, while he’d be happy to be reunited with the cast, a full-length revival was unlikely.

Since Kohli is pretty busy now, McIver isplaying Sam inGhosts, and stars Aly Michalka and Robert Buckley are working on upcoming movies,aniZombierevival series would be unlikely even if the show’s creator had another story in mind. However, Kohli could easily guest-star in an episode ofGhostsseason 5, and there could even be an outing of the sitcom that reunites all the former main actors of the show.
However brief this reunion might be, it would be a fun surprise for fans of the underrated procedural.iZombie’s cast had great chemistry and, fromBrooklyn Nine-Nine’s Joe Lo Truglio toHigh Potential’s Deniz Akdeniz,Ghostshas already introduced a slew of fun one-off guest characters played by notable TV actors over the years.

Ghosts Has A Lot in Common with iZombie
BothGhostsandiZombieare fun, supernatural shows where Rose McIver plays a leading heroine with unique powers. As such,Ghostsseason 5’s storylinestaging as a cast reunion would make a great opportunity for a fun plot that highlights both the similarities and differences between the two shows. Already, season 4, episode 9, “A Very Arondekar Christmas Part 2,” featured earlier nod to the show when Sam complained that she hated zombies.
