With Mike Flanagan set to bring Stephen King’sCarrieto television screens for a series at Prime Video, several stars who have previously worked with the filmmaker will have starring roles in the series.Flanagan is best known for his several horror miniseriesfor Netflix, includingThe Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, andThe Fall of the House of Usher. Flanagan has also previously brought several of King’s works to screen withDoctor Sleep, Gerald’s Game, andThe Life of Chuck.

Released in 1974,Carrietells the harrowing tale of Carrie White, a young girl raised in an abusive religious household and who is the frequent subject of bullying at school, as she learns that she has inherited telekinetic powers that she can turn on her abusers.Carriewas previously adaptedby Brian De Palma in 1976, David Carson in 2002, and Kimberly Peirce in 2013.Flanagan’s adaptation ofCarriewill feature Summer Howell as the titular supernaturally gifted teen, though many stars who have appeared in the filmmaker’s past works will reunite with him as well.

One of Flanagan’s most notable collaborators is Kate Siegel,whom Flanagan is married to and has starred in a number of his projectsacross both his Netflix productions and King adaptations. The pair first collaborated together on 2013’sOculus, before continuing their work together withHush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, andGerald’s Game.Siegel also appears inThe Life of Chuckas the teacher Miss Richards.

Siegel also served as co-writer onHush.

Siegel would again work with Flanagan throughout his many projects at Netflix in several key roles. The actress portrayed the older Theodora Crain inThe Haunting of Hill House, original manor heiress Viola Willoughby-Lloyd inThe Haunting of Bly Manor, Crockett Island school teacher Erin Greene inMidnight Mass, and cutthroat PR head Camille L’Espanaye inThe Fall of the House of Usher. It is unknown who Siegel will play inCarrie.

Carriewill also see Siegel’sThe Fall of the House of Usherco-star Rahul Kohli reunite with Flanagan. In the aforementioned series, he portrayed a drug-addicted video game publisher and Usher family member, Napoleon, who falls victim to his family’s dark dealings. Kohli also appeared inThe Haunting of Bly Manoras the titular house’s cook, Owen Sharma, and inMidnight Massas Sheriff Hassan, the lawman of Crockett Island who finds himself sometimes at odds with the population due to his Muslim faith.

Kohli made his first appearance in a Flanagan-produced feature production inThe Life of Chuck. In the 2025 feature, Kohli portrays Bri, one of the colleagues of Karen Gillan’s Felicia Gordon at the hospital in the third act. Like Siegel, Kohli is currently expected to only make a single appearance in one episode as an unknown character.

Margaret White

Another frequent collaborator of Flanagan’sset to appear inCarrieis Samantha Sloyan. Sloyan first worked alongside Flanagan inHushwith her portrayal of ill-fated neighbor Sarah Greene, and appeared inThe Life of Chuckas Miss Rohrbacher, the teacher in charge of the Twirlers and Spinners dance class. As Flanagan worked with Netflix, the actress portrayed Steven Crain’s (Michiel Huisman) wife Leigh inThe Haunting of Hill House, overzealous church member Bev Keane inMidnight Mass, Shasta inThe Midnight Club, and lifestyle guru Tamerlane Usher inThe Fall of the House of Usher.

InCarrie, Sloyan has been cast as Margaret White,Carrie’s highly religious mother who serves as the story’s antagonistdue to her abusive treatment of her child. Margaret White was previously portrayed by Piper Laurie in the original 1976 movie, Patricia Clarkson, in the 2002 television movie, and Julianne Moore in the 2013 remake. Ultimately, Margaret’s abuse takes its toll on Carrie, leading to the pair having a fateful showdown on the night of her now-infamous prom.

Prior to reuniting with Flanagan onCarrie, Michael Trucco has played major roles across three of his series. This includes his portrayals of Crockett Island’s Mayor Wade Scarbrough inMidnight Mass, Frederick inThe Midnight Club, and Rufus Griswold, former CEO of Fortunato Pharmaceuticals during the Ushers' rise to power, inThe Fall of the House of Usher. The actor has also made an appearance inThe Life of Chuck. Trucco joins Siegel and Kohli as another actor whose expected single-episode role is wrapped in mystery.

Crystal Balint first worked with Flanagan onMidnight Mass, where she starred alongside Trucco as Wade’s wife, Dolly, across seven episodes. Balint would further appear inThe Midnight Clubas Maggie, the late foster mother to Iman Benson’s lead character Ilonka, and as Morella Usher, the poorly-fated wife to Henry Thomas' Frederick inThe Fall of the House of Usher. Like many of herfellowThe Fall of the House of Ushercastmates, Balint’s role is currently unknown, though she too is expected to appear in at least a guest role in a single episode.

As of the time of writing, Danielle Klaudt has only appeared in one other Flanagan production in her role inThe Fall of the House of Usher. In the Netflix series, Klaudt starred alongside Sloyan as the unnamed assistant to Tamerlane Usher through her Goldbug lifestyle brand, gradually witnessing her downfall as she too falls victim to the Ushers' deadly deal. It is currently unknown whether Klaudt will star alongside Sloyan’s Margaret, and it is unclear whether she will play a major role in the series.

Recognizable for her portrayals of Lieutenant Kara “Starbuck” Thrace inBattlestar GalacticaandBo Katan-Kryze in variousStar Warsprojects, Katee Sackhoff first worked with Flanagan onOculus. In the filmmaker’s first theatrically-released feature, Sackhoff portrayed doomed Russell family matriarch Marie throughout the 2002 storyline, as she falls victim to a cursed mirror. As her role is not yet disclosed, it is unclear whether Sackhoff will also be on the receiving end of Carrie’s fury in the upcoming series, or how many episodes she will appear in.

Principal Gayle

Finally, Matthew Lillard is best known as a horror icon for his roles inScreamandFive Nights at Freddy’s, having portrayed original Ghostface killer Stu Macher in the original 1997 movie and taking on the role of William Afton in the 2023 video game adaptation. Alongside his villainous roles, he is recognizable for his portrayals of Shaggy across theScooby-Doofranchise. Lillard is one of the latest actors to join Flanagan’s group of collaborators, as he first worked with him inThe Life of Chuck, with his portrayal of neighbor Gus in the third act of the movie.

However, inCarrie, Lillard is set to portray Principal Grayle in the upcoming TV adaptation. In the original King novel, Grayle is a good-natured but lower-ranked teacher at Ewen High School when compared to his upcoming counterpart, who unfortunately finds himself witnessing the tragedy Carrie’s powers bring at her fateful prom. However,Grayle is a character who has not appeared in past adaptations,making him a new addition for those who aren’t familiar with the novel, but one who will likely play a significant role.
