WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit #1 (2025)!

For as long as most fans can remember,Harley Quinn’s iconic logo has been diamonds, a reference to a specific suit in a deck of playing cards. However, if the Gotham City Siren’s new costume is any indication, it looks like Harley is ditching her diamonds for a different calling card. The question is whether the change is here to stay.

Gotham City Sirens out of orbit

Leah Williams and Haining’s new series,Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit, has just launched its debut issue, and Harley, Selina, and Ivy are back (wilder than ever) as Catwoman enlists the other two Sirens in her latest heist.

This particular job takes place at a space-themed nightclub, meaning the trio needed new costumes to blend in. In a brilliant display of creative talent, artist Haining has given the Sirens an out-of-this-world look while still preserving their signature styles. However,Harley is notably sporting a new logo.

As long-time fans know,Harley Quinn’s earliest appearance inBatman: The Animated Seriesintroduced her now-iconic red and black jester suit, which featured scattered diamond symbols taken from the playing card suit. Over the years, those diamonds became more uniform in their design and placement.

Typically, the design included three diamonds arranged to suggest a full diamond shape, as if a fourth piece would complete the form. This formation, whether rendered in black or red, became just as closely tied to Harley Quinn’s identity as the bat symbol is to Batman’s.

Now, inGotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit#1, Harley makes a surprising change. Her new costume features an upside-down spade placed prominently at the center of her chest. In the superhero world, this spot is a key visual anchor for character logos, which makes the change impossible to ignore.

Still, Harley hasn’t completely left her diamonds behind. Her belt buckle features one red and one black diamond, paying homage to her classic style. Even so, the spade clearly takes center stage. It dominates the design and marks a bold new direction for Harley’s look, and truthfully, it’s low-key awesome.

Harley’s Logo Isn’t the Only Change to Her Iconic Look

The apparent change in logo isn’t the only difference inHarley Quinn’s new look. She’s also wearing a completely different outfit compared to her current mainstream continuity appearance, which features a cropped t-shirt, shorts, and one half of a pair of striped leggings. In this new look, Harley also sports a cropped puff vest, elbow-length gloves, and wields her signature mallet.

But the standout detail is easily her hairstyle. Harley’s space buns are a perfect match for her pink and black hair, adding just the right amount of playful chaos that fits the club’s space theme. It will be interesting to see how long this newHarley Quinnlook sticks around, especially since this series is technically part of main continuity.
