I’ve watched a ton ofhorror movies, butFreakyis unlike anything I’ve seen, because it uniquely uses a concept that I’d never associate with horror, despite the obvious merits.Freaky Fridayis a sweet teenage drama with so much nostalgia attached to it, that using its body swapping premise for a slasher seems outrageous.

Yet, that’s exactly what happens inFreaky, and it works wonders. Vince Vaughn plays a psychopathic killer and Kathryn Newton plays a high-school girl who accidentally swaps bodies. Thehilarity of a teenage girl’s mind trapped in Vince Vaughn’s bodycomplements the horror of an actual teenager going on a terrifying murder spree.
